Poem -

A Paramount Promenade

A Paramount Promenade

Of all the books I've ever read, for all the meanings of the words I've learned, there is only one that truly matters...love.

I step inside the emerald room
Where flowing thoughts of romance bloom
And sometime 'fore the night is through,
I just want to dance with you

The day is looking weary blue
Soon the moon will saunter through
To fill the eve with longing air
While stars can only stop and stare

The essence of your perfume there,
Divides the stale and tempting air
And time it holds a useless due,
As every moment fades to you

A plume of smoke ambles through
Then pauses as it passes you
And if a glance is so endowed,
One sees an angel 'midst a cloud

I've nearly found the courage rare,
To journey out beyond this chair
For all my days remain untrue,
If I don't have this dance with you.

Hi Matthew...You sure have created a romantic reverie that feels peaceful....as if a man finds courage to dream from his chair with the images of this dance of love as motivation to have hope.  I love your title...lol....perfect... showing power and influence in this dance to his outlook on life....I wish life problems could all be erased by a simple bonding dance ....authenticating a truth of love....sigh...That is a beautiful conception you have presented here...I love your way of thinking, my friend...You know how sentimental I am over all things love, so this speaks to me.  Great work.  xo Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

Oh, thank you, Cherie, that means a lot from you.
I think you're inspiring me with your beautiful love poetry, and your heart.
As always, you grasp the meaning of my poems so clearly. Without her in his dance, he is nothing.
I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you!
Love and hugs,
Matthew.

Silky!
Thank you so much, my friend! You're too kind.
And thank you for saying it was elegant. I was going for that smoky, seductive, elegant feel(like when you're out and there's someone you just can't take your eyes off of as the rest of the combustible world goes on), so I really appreciate it.

Hugs returned,

Matthew.

Marielle!
I really wish this site would tell you when you get a comment on a poem, because I hate when I fail to respond(especially to such wonderful personages as you!), so sorry for the late reply(I've been detained by work...and constables(whatever they are)), and have been lax...not Ex-Lax, but lacking in being on here. I'm sure you know how it is, with work, etc.
Anyway, that was a long intro to my thanking you, so I will now start doing that. Thank you.
And yes, I am very talented, just not in any type of ways. However, I do keep a tidy glove compartment in my car, so I've got that going for me.
I'm not sure where this whole thing is going, but I appreciate you thoroughly, and I'm sorry if I missed any of your beautiful poetry lately.
Over.
Matthew.

Grammy!!
I'm so sorry I missed your comment! I'm an egregious, vial, despicable, miserable, stinky human being!(and those are my good qualities!). I hope you can forgive me, and I hope you will still accept my humble appreciation for your beautiful comment. You're the greatest Grammy since Mildred Fernsipper III, and she would be so envious of your penmanship.
Kidding, but YOU are wonderful, and I appreciate it, and you're too kind.
But thanks!
You're great!

Matthew.

My friend! I'm so sorry I missed your comment! I'm not used to people enjoying my poetry through comments, I'm more used to them chucking things at me, like tomatoes.
I haven't been on that much lately, but I so appreciate you, and your kindness, and miss you!
I hope you are well, and thank you so munch!(munch??). I think I meant much!

TTYS,
Matthew.
