Poem -

Abysmal Affinity

Abysmal Affinity

In love, I revel alone in my abysmal affinity
Where roses expose sweet aromas with amenity
Here, in soft frosted thoughts, I naively pretend
I’m the Queen of Passion, with my title to contend

Please allow me to create this favored fantasy
Where love reigns the day, with confident commandery
I appear ageless, graceful, dressed in classic romance
The Sultan of Sensuality sends me his loving glance

Then, he floats with me, effortlessly, in bonded bliss
Perfectly paired, prepared for love’s impassioned kiss
I sync the sun and moon when consumed by desire
A swooning sensation of melded stars on fire

Flickering fondly, in flames of love’s afterglow
He holds my hand as grand gesture to let me know
He won't let go, for we own the sky's romantic scene
His lips bear kiss of sustenance, nectar's treacly esteem

To my surprise, his eyes comprise my love's destiny
When the world breaks my spirit, he preserves the best of me
Where I am free to release my passion's jubilance
Moving the moon's position, as backsplash for our dance

I want to sway, until the stars shake from their firmament
Protecting our pleasant stay in fate's arranged determinant
I'm the Queen of Romance in this intriguing vicinity
Revered in my reverie- an abysmal affinity

Hello my Love!!...... your poetry sings the sweet music of your most romantic soul.... and in this piece you bombard us with subtle and slippery alliteration that helps the flow and tone of this to transport us to a romantic land from your imagination where you 're not only the Queen of Passion..... but where you own the nectar from the very sky itself!!....... Beautifully crafted...... and wholly CHERIE!!.........ALL STARS!! & PINNED!!...... powerfully well delivered poetry from the source of all things!!....... Love It!!....... Love you!!....... kisses......T xo. : )

Hello T!  ;)  Lol...I am glad that you say this poem is "wholly Cherie"....lol  I cannot deny that I like to write the romantic genre poetry and I feel at home doing so. I think an escape from this world's stresses and to a place of complete romance and intense affections would be idealistic!  I write of what inspires my heart.  I am so excited that you say it was beautifully crafted.  I spent a lot of time tweaking this one last night.  Thank you!  I will include this in my upcoming poetry book.   Love n Hugs, xoxox C

Cheerie,
First of all, that was beautiful! Gorgeously written, and soooooo lovingly lovely. (I had to say that before my mind went off on a tangent, and you don't get the complete adoration you deserve for you incredible love poetry).
Secondly, you are the Debutante of Devotion!
Thirdly, I am just floored by your humbleness towards yourself, and your writing!(It amazes me how you could write in that you 'pretend' to be the 'Queen of Passion' when it's so clear that you are firmly entrenched in that position!). But I really like your humbleness, Sultan of Sentimentality!
Fourthly, I love that line, 'Here, in soft, frosted thoughts...' That is just beautiful!
Fifthly, your romance was incredibly depicted here. I just loved the love story, it's so sweet, and heart warming.
Ninehundredthly, I think my favorite verse was:
'Flickering fondly, in flames of love’s afterglow
He holds my hand as grand gesture to let me know
He won't let go, for we own the sky's romantic scene
His lips bear kiss of sustenance, nectar's treacly esteem'

It reminds me of a song called Falling, about falling in love, when he says,
'Please don't let go of my hand...'

Anyway, that was wonderful. I'm sorry if my review was all over the place, but I'm a slight romantic myself, and I think I may have injured my brain, and heart, while reading this! Poem of the Year honors.

Awesome!

L&H,
Matthew.

Dear Matthew, Thank you for such attentive comments about what you like about my poem.  I think I was picking fun on myself as the "Queen of Romance" because that is a nickname that many on Cosmo started calling me...so if I am going to portray a romantic scene, why not be the projected image that would be idealistic?  Lol  I think you quoted my favorite lines that you liked.  Thank you for such an elaborate explanation of your thoughts on my poetry.  That is such a great compliment.  I appreciate your support and friendship. xo Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

Hi Greg. Thank you!  I always enjoy writing about love.  The world can be so distracting from what is important in life...and to escape into the kind of world that is focused on the beauty of love is idealistic to me.  I hope to put some of my love poems into a book to publish next  year.  I appreciate your support.  xo ;)  Love n Hugs

My Dear Cherie,

As usual, you have created another love poem masterpiece.

We float freely to the stars, as my Soulmate takes my hand
To the depths of infinity, we eventually will land
With passions eruption, I feel the parting of the sea
As "Abysmal Affinity", then takes hold of me

Love,
Larry xxx
