Alien Song

Alien Song

I’m a stranger in a strange land
No comforter to hold my hand
I come in peace; I try at least
To avoid condescending beast

This life I do not recognize
Even as I rub weary eyes
An alien planet in home’s place
So far away from love’s soft grace

Strange creatures mean to do me harm
With uncouth banter, lacking charm
What chance do I have for survival?
I was glared upon at arrival

My weapon is a melody
Sung persistently, just for me
A song to soothe my somber mood
In hopes my pain will not protrude

Should I explore the secret portal?
Perhaps it leads to something mortal
It dangles and daunts an unknown
A risk I must take on my own

Jumping forward, no looking back
Curiosity takes up the slack
Once passing through, to other side
My extrinsic song sings with pride

I protest jest of testacy
Love’s melody meets destiny
One knew the lyrics of my song
He recognized me all along

In this new world, we’ll sing out strong
The duet, of alien song

Hi Lodigiana!  I will have to look up your poem "The Callers."  I love science fiction too.  I have had visions in my life from God and believe there is much more out there than we can imagine.  God is still creating, and why would there not be things we do not know are out there?  I think we can feel pretty "alien" in our own lives here on Earth...and I know I have always had a difficult time feeling I fit into this planet we live on ...so much I witness that I do not understand, nor do I want to, or it would mean I am a part of it.  I wanted to write something different in theme and use metaphorically too to that alien feeling.  Thank you for your kind support.  xo ;)

Hi Greg....Thank you!  I agree! There has to be more out there...We are limited to what we can explore and see out in the universe...and God is alive and still creating, it says in His words, so why would He not have other livable planets we have yet to discover out there?  I think God only allows us to know what we are ready to handle and in His will and time.  It did not work out so well for us in the Garden of Eden when we decided to do out own thing without God, and also many ancient civilizations that advanced but were wiped out and destroyed from leaving God out....I trust that God will reveal to us what we can know when we are suppose to know.  But it is fun to wonder and ponder the possibilities.  ;)  Thanks, Greg

I would have to agree with you on that I believe God knows what’s out there and will let us know  someday  I was told a long time ago that there is a planet out there that is just like ours and has people on it just like us but where  is It and can we get to it

If we discover a portal like through a worm hole, I suppose anything is possible, but I do know someday we will ALL know our Creator intimately in the new world and He will allow us to know all the secrets of life and our purposes to Him then.  I think the most important thing is that we are seeking to know God, and He wants us to draw to Him and be fascinated with His creations....all having purpose to Him and His will. xo ;)

Hi Cheerie,
You are such a wonderful writer!
Beautiful piece! Another form of love expressed with such incredible uniqueness, and beauty. I love that first stanza, it is so smart, while it gets your point across, and also leads you to another world. It's just gorgeous. I love writing like that!! And then the portal, wonderfully, metaphorically portraying your leap of faith into love. Fantastic write, Cheerie! You are so talented, and you are the E.T. of Emotion!
Beautiful, young lady!!

Hove, and lugs,

Matthew.

Hey Matthew!  ;)  Thank you!  I somehow manage to always put hints of love in all my poems, even one that is suppose to be a science fiction piece...lol.  You are very perceptive though, that I somehow put in that hope of love  as metaphorically using a portal to transport her there with faith.  I chuckled at your comment of me being the "E.T of Emotion"...lol....I like that!  That is creative.  You are a great commentator and awesome supportive friend too.  Thank you!  xo Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

Thank you!!! For writing so beautifully, and for being such an inspirational, lovely human being...or alien(whichever you may be. lol).
(Honestly, I'm beginning to think you're not from here, because you're so much nicer than anyone from this orb. I'm so thankful you came here, though). Nanoo nanoo, you little Alien of Affection!
Thanks for being you.

Matthew.

Lol....I honestly feel more alien and wonder about this world I am in if I belong here....lol  But it makes it worth living here when I have supportive friends who believe in me, like you do Matthew.  I appreciate how understanding and kind you are. Bless you. I like Mork from Ork!  Miss Robin Williams.  He is an alien I would like to hang out with. He seemed more human than the mortals here...lol    Thank you. xo ;)

Hi T...Thank you.  I was just trying something different.  I don't usually write such short syllable lines, but it worked for this one.  I am glad you found it creative and uniquely my own.  I know I sometimes feel alien to this world, so it made an easy theme to go with.  lol  Love n Hugs, xo C

Hi Randy.  Thank you so much!  I think I wrote this as a metaphorical kind of write, representing escape from life...feeling in an alien world.  I appreciate you taking time to read and comment.  xo ;)
