Poem -

All Aspects of the Last Goodbye...And You.

All Aspects of the Last Goodbye...And You.

Sometimes when we question things grievously, a beautiful answer appears before our eyes.

Eternal darkness
No more pain
No love remembered
No loss or gain

A land of beauty
No longer strife
A world of healing
Just warming light

A dark, abrasive, dying land
From which transgressions did remand
A place where dreams still have a view,
But never will the pain subdue

A lonely place which we may pass
Through God's forgiving hourglass
A learning time to make us see
The Grace within a Sacred Three

I've contemplated many creeds
And sadly mulled some awful deeds
But found the Answer finally true
As I was blessed the heart of you.

"I still don't know if there's a Heaven, but if there is, I hope it rivals your eyes."

I really don't know how to do your work justice Matthew...it is just simply beautiful, I know I keep saying this but it just is. It always flows perfectly and I am always left with sad longing, though I don't know what for...pinned 💕

Marionette,
Thank you so much!! It's an honor to hear such nice words from such a wonderful writer and person. If my arms hadn't fallen off this morning at a bench pressing convention in Sussex, I would give you a hug...but here's a chest bump.
Thank you!
Matthew.

Thank you, Jillo!

Hello dear Matthew,
This is so reverent and leans on faith.  Despite pain and darkness that surround him, there comes the spark of hope.  The last two stanzas of eight lines are so beautiful!
I love the line, "The Grace within the Sacred Three," alluding to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, as an active force that is amidst the learning process of life and pain and love.  All it takes sometimes to find hope, is to see that someone cares and will not leave one alone in their pain.

You are a gifted writer, Matthew.  I am so proud that you are my friend, and I learn so much from your life experiences and original writings that reveal your heart in them all.  I love the title too.  Love n Hugs, Cheerie  ;)

You're so astute, young lady, and the capitalized Answer is supposed to display the fact that our vacillating protagonist has leaned towards God's Heaven, because he was shown the beauty of the woman's heart.
"When one kind word meant more to me then all the love in Paradise."
You're just the nicest person I know. Thank you for being so great!
Love,

Matthew.

Wow this is awesomely rhymed and superbly poetic in content. But I'm not sure if this is a religious poem or it is to a love found. It seems to fit both ways. Kudos.

What a beautiful poem. Grieving is one of the most natural elements in life. The older you are, the more you have grieved (for many). I enjoyed listening to the beats in the poem. You have a nice poetic voice that shines on the page. I liked how you kept each line the same number of syllables. The quote at the end, is an added touch. I’m so glad I found your poem this evening. It’s easy to get lost on Cosmofunnel, there are so many fantastic authors.
Thank you, Matthew for sharing your poetry. I continue to be inspired.
