Poem -

Bedtime Stories for Life

She looks to the world through sorrowful eyes
Perfect, brown Aggies, resplendent in size
But if she laughs, her eyes turn blue,
Despite their dark, unaltered hue

She lives her life within a dream,
Queen of broken hearts it'd seem
But broken hearts weren't hers to give
For that's not where her demons live

Tracing lines upon the sands,
Of time and space and distant lands
She runs her fingers through her hair
And stares beyond the mirror there

For reflections show an ugly face
When evil wields the pen to trace
Lines that should be marked by love
And a father's hands as His above

But all creations don't hold grace
And the lonely look upon her face
Is memory of a time not meant,
Where bedtime stories should be spent.

Thanks My Beautiful Friend!Β
It's about a friend of mine(that I made on another site), who was abused by her father(terrible thing), and you could still tell it affected her until this day. It's not fair that she never had a chance, and that someone could make that terrible impression on her, for life. Sickening.Β
Thanks for reading, and commenting, my friend. You're wonderful.Β

Wow... this is gripping and chilling from beginning to end. Reading the story behind it (from your friend... so sorry for what she had to experience😞)... it makes this write even more exceptional. Absolutely beautiful and very powerful my friend, kudos! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

Silent One,Β
Do I have to preface each comment to you by telling you how nice you are? Or can this just be assumed from here on out? OK, you're wicked nice.Β
Thank you!Β
Yes, she is a dear friend that I never actually met in person, and she's a beautiful writer(mostly sad, and dark), and we used to correspond a lot, and you could tell how her childhood worked it's grievous ways into her later life. She's still a nice person, and as nice to me as anyone I've ever known, but it has messed up her personal life. Really sad.Β
Thank you so much!Β

Thank you so much! You're really sweet. I love how nice everyone is on here, it's really cool.Β
It is a sad story, I don't understand how a parent could do that, you know? Maybe someday, we'll understand how things like that happen. I don't know.Β
Hey, thanks again, Joanne. So nice to meet you, and be here.Β

Awww..What a very sad tale...as if she has a warped image of herself in such deep despair and pain....Beautifully put together in rhyme with perfect syllables and flow....I am really enjoying your work...Glad you are here. xo ;)

You're soooo nice. Thank you very much. It's so nice to meet nice people like yourself. I know I'm no Robert Frost, but I do like writing, and kind people like you make it so much more fun.Β
You're great.Β
