Poem -

Blame My Heart

Blame My Heart

I only said ‘I love you’
You’ve scanned me from hair to shoes
You’ve no idea the confidence it took
I don’t have the world, but I love you

I’ve thought of you all year
What has been holding me is fear
I challenged myself to be here
Only if you could spare me your ears

If the castes of men count,
I know I do not count
I don’t deserve to stop you to hear me out
but my heart picks you out

You can look at me as though I don’t exist
but yeah, there it is
I had to let it loose from these heavy lips
just so I could live
