Born Against the Grain

Having been born against the grain,
His mind open to things beyond the deep,
Unto the very core of existence,
This insight, both his bliss and his bane.
A bridge there is not,
To connect him with his kind.
Alone he is,
With He and his mind.
He cannot put to words
The dimensions of his hurt.
For who else feels
And thinks at such a depth?
He knows that tempting exit,
Open to him with loving arms.
But something moves him foward
Further in life, closer to harm.
Condemn him not of his ways.
Mock him not with comfort words.
But bring to him hence that
He himself cannot obtain.
