Poem -

Broken Together

Broken Together

I am obsessed with the white wedding dress
Yet, I will confess that emotional scars
Still achieve their seethe and scuffles
'Tis human to make many scaled mistakes
And even fairy tales have their struggles

I want to leave the confusing world behind
With its painful lessons and ugly rubble
But it insists to come equipped and knocking
Using life's mystery as a body double
But I cling to the true spirit of love

You may always see my soul's sore stitches
I recognize your battered, bandaged heart
Only one emphatic plea consumes me
For us to focus on our forever
It's okay to be broken together

I feel seasons unchanged, making me weak
Love's faith must crash in with convincing leap
When the world winks, thinking it's so clever
Ignore rain, caressing sunshine weather
Determined to love, broken together

Hi Lorna!  ;)  xox  I am so excited to see you on here!  Bless you for taking time to read my work.  How are you?  I miss you and  your lovey poetry.  You sum up well the theme of my write...We may be broken in one way or another from our life experiences, but we need to turn to each other, not away, to find a safe place to be together despite the challenges and pains that need healing.  Acceptance is the key!  You got it!  Thank you for such kind support. xo Love n Hugs, ;)

Thank you.  I do too.  I am glad Jason is well.  I am not surprised at all that his writing was recognized and published in the Brooklyn review...He is one of the best poets I have ever read...and he deserves all the recognition he gets and then some!  I am so happy.  I know you are proud of him. Tell him I say "Hello," and "Congrats!"

TRUTH HURTS. BUT, IT CAN HEAL. You, have to accept it. It is never wrong, is it ? You need it, in your realms of reality or fantasy, to bring forth the sunnier climes. With falsehoods comes nothing of worth.
You, must realize what happens behind the misty veil, expecting justification for adhering to caring principle. It is all about feeling. Senses warn you of risk approaching and allow you to deal with it, to maintain full integrity. Never do you want to be caught unawares, do you ? You want the best for yourself, do you not ?
It is in winding your way to your Nirvana that you learn what is most important. Deceptions must not be allowed to cloud the issue, unless it is beneficial !!! :) :) I know, there is something in your " heart of hearts "
beckoning for more.
The unknown element rears up to teach you what you can dare to share, within. How can it be ignored, when it is right ?
" THE HEART GETS WHAT THE HEART WANTS ", does it not ? Leave nothing to chance, to find all you need. You are strong to write of such matters, so openly. It is your style. Many appreciate it.
THANKS FOR SHARING SO MUCH OF YOURSELF. So readily. You are giving, you know. Wishing you the very best. XX  :)

Thank you, Richard...You have always been so respected by me for your insight about love and life and your tender nature in guiding me. Thank you for your care.  I take to heart all you say.  I do not know how to write any other way than with my emotions...and sometimes in my own writings, I discover new revelations in how I feel and approach life by sorting them in words.  I agree that it is important to use senses as a warning or way of deciphering what we want....It is no fun to live repressed and to please everyone else in life.  We must recognize the brokenness in ourselves,  in order to love another soul in pain and be accepting of that pain as well.  We are imperfect  people, and we need to be loved even in our broken states without being judged.  Thank you for always inspiring me and keeping me focused.  Much love to you! xo ;)

YOU HAVE TO FOCUS. ON WHAT MATTERS. Do it, for yourself. Find a directional impulse suitable for you. Do not let others get in the way of your yearning soul. I detect in you a lot to please. You are such a caring, sharing preacher/teacher of the substance, hidden by fluff. You know, what is the heart of the matter and what matters to the heart.
LIVE FOR THE JOURNEY. LIVE FOR EXPERIENCES. LIVE, IN A WAY WHICH FITS YOU. What suits, always does so. If you keep what is important in mind.
" NEVER GIVE UP ON A GOOD THING. " The song speaks volumes. The music must not fade away, bringing to you everything and anything, to maintain your credentials, as an inspiration.
Warmest wishes, are from the souls propensity to " SEE THE TRUTH." You are like an open book with an unfinished story begging to be completed. Others can " fill in the blanks " for you. YOU DESERVE IT !!!  :) :) :) Stay as you are. Then, what you will receive can only be good !!!
DREAM, FREELY. DREAM, OPENLY. DREAM WITHOUT MISGIVING.  :) XX

Richard, I swear it is like you are looking into my heart and soul right now and it is kind of scary....but I am reading your words and feeling the best intentions to set me free....I do feel deeply and your words have a freeing message that I am trying to apply to myself...Thank you.  I don't want others to fill in the blank pages for me to finish my story....I want to claim it.  Thank you for expressing that I should follow my dreams...for I have always felt I am  a part of other's dreams and forgotten my own....Kind of sad...Thank you you for just being who you are and caring.  I will be taking all you say to heart.  xo ;)

A Lonely Journey

Cheerie,
That may be the best poem I've ever read. Honestly. You're trying to make a person cry, aren't you? (well, I'm not going to! I held in the tears, and they began shooting out of my ears, and looked like a fountain).
Maybe it's me, but I felt, and understood each word, and line of that poem, and I hate that you have scars, and I hate that I have scars, and I don't understand the world, right with you. However, I love that you still retain that beautiful hope, and your vision of love will never die.
That was harrowingly, gorgeously, hopefully, beautifully written.
Wonderful.
(Move over, Mr. Frost, someone just took your top spot. Sorry.).
Great.

Matthew.

Thank you, Matthew.  I have never felt that I fit into this world...and it has made me very sensitive to my environment.  Despite scars and pain in life, we are all worthy to be loved and appreciated for who we are.  I thought you could understand my words.  I want to always live with hope and faith and be willing to forgive to be forgiven....We all make mistakes, but in our flaws we learn, and from hurt we gain strength to know what we want in life.  I am not anywhere NEAR Frost's work, but I am flattered that you like my poetry though.  You have been a faithful supporter and I appreciate your belief in me, my friend.  xo :)

TRULY beautiful and personal!!..... how I love to read about US interwoven in your words...... it's like living with a beautiful narrator that paints our life in a kind of secret poetic code!!......I DO think this is one of your more perfectly delivered writes..... because of its profoundly universal subject matter and beautifully delivered rhyme scheme!!......PINNED!!......Gorgeous poetry my love!!....... kisses.......T xo 🐧❤❤❤❤❤🐧👍

Hey T....This is personal to me because I can only write what I feel and I can relate to....and I believe we are all imperfect and carry hurts and pains that can interfere with a relationship...but if we can accept that it is okay not to have all our hurts healed and understand we are okay when we are broken together...There is strength in accepting our brokenness and relying on trust in another to get us through...I am so happy you pinned this...Thank you.  Love n Hugs, C xo

Cherie I truly think this is the best poem I have read from you so far.  It truly spoke to me. A place I find myself with my sweetheart.  I enjoyed this.

Ps please read my " American Dream".  I just took a human trafficking class and this spoke to me.

HI  Greg....Really?  You liked my poem that well?  I do think that if we all realize we are not perfect and come with painful experiences, we can be stronger together in our brokenness.  I am so happy you say it spoke to you and your sweetheart.....When we feel weak, we are stronger when together.

I will certainly read your poem...I am sure you see some very interesting things in your line of work...xo ;)

very inspiring... makes me think of a love connection I have, all this praying for a perfect relationship won't do us any good, relationships aren't perfect, there are times when I want to give up but I don't have it in me, I surrender to the idea that there will be rough times in any relationship but I see it like this, if two can dance the tango they can move to the same rythym and tempo even through battles.

Hi Roger..I totally agree!  Great analogy!  Most relationships have baggage and hurt they bring into it that needs healing...and there is no perfect scenario..but there is respect and understanding and sticking together to become strong in that brokenness...I so appreciate your kind support and reading my work. xo ;)
