Poem -

Complacent Dragon

Complacent Dragon

She hears the fierce beast, snarling behind her
A less than subtle, harassing reminder
That dragons are real, and they reveal trauma
Energized by worldly lies that add drama

Her memories strike like a serpent’s wrath
With a slithery stoke on constricting path
Under the umbrella of her empathy
Emotional rain restrains her depth to breathe

She needs a comforter, who will understand
To stand with her through life-storms, and hold her hand
One who can calm the dragon of jeopardy
And kiss her with love’s redemptive remedy

Come winds of change, time-tested tempest tamers!
Offer love’s vow, without deceptive disclaimers
Whisk away worries, in a whirlwind fashion
Replace displaced faith, with complacent dragon

For we all need validation through affection
The beast of neglect rebels with insurrection
Dragons withhold their wrath, completely surrendered
When we simply laugh, and love is remembered

Hi Greg...Thank you very much!  I tend to think love is the answer to everything...lol...and to neglect it brings out the dragon.  I am glad my poem brought positive emotions to your mind...That is a great compliment. xo ;)

An epic poem Cherie, like the opening to a tale of great battles, defending love at all cost.

I truly enjoyed it, thank you.

Hi Gerard....Thank you so much!  I love that you called my poem, "epic"...Yay!  I am honored. Your summation is perfect!  Yes, I believe you should defend love at all costs ....standing up to the dragons in life that hold you back from its comfort.  I found the picture and it just spoke to me and wrote the poem.  Thanks so much for your kind support. xo ;)

A Lonely Journey

Hi Cheerie,
I'm sorry I missed this over the weekend, because it's just wonderful.
Why do I relate so completely with all of your poetry?
This is my favorite stanza:

'She needs a comforter, who will understand
To stand with her through life-storms, and hold her hand
One who can calm the dragon of jeopardy
And kiss her with love’s redemptive remedy'

It's so gorgeous...and so true. We all need that, and wouldn't the world just be the most wonderful place with that...and even if the world wasn't, it wouldn't matter, because your world we be complete. Fantastic writing, my friend.
You're THE best.

Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Hi Matthew...You do not need to apologize...I know you have a life...lol..I am always just happy when you have time to read and comment.  Thank you. I found the picture and used it to help inspire this write....I think you quoted my favorite part of what I wrote...because I am such a dependent person upon affection and feeling validated...Sometimes it is hard to let go of the things that have hurt us in life and to move on....and to always seek those things that show love is never a wrong decision...as love has a way of healing all the mistakes and hurts in life.  I am happy you understand how I think.  Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;) xo

I hope life is fair, and God is watching us, because I really love that affection you mentioned, also. You're really awesome.

Hi Marion...Thank you so much!  I like dragons, and so when I found the picture it inspired me...and I always write about love in one form or another so it was easy to  be creative and write what the picture inspired.  Your support always means so much!  Love n Hugs xo ;)

It is in the " nature " of the beast, where we find ourselves. In the malevolent malestrom of deviation is found the persuasive remedies which have belittled and becalmed pseudo-sensual expressionist fanciful misadventures..... devoid of clearest " bindings and bandages " !! You have to  relay the legacy of evidence supporting that ! Do you agree ? Here.
The words defeat future action if they are not directed at mainframe transluscent theory rather than transgressive hypocratic qualities. Beauty is in the eye, of the beholder. Who wants to hold on to any thing nasty ? Or dangerous. Unless, that is your want. Like a mythical hybrid of ultimate risk evolved from divergence and disingenuous invasions into the fundamental principles of heartfelt desires. Possibly ?
That seen, you then build a picture of current blends, and trends, of evocative progressive deeds. Surley ?
Nice compilation of idealist notions set against harsh reality. XX  :)

" BEAST " versus banal ? Or, " beast " versus THE FEAST ? The banquet of infinite diversity. Coming from a rich tapestry ? You, feel the vibrant core index of unbelievable strength. Surely ? To do otherwise would be ignorant of life lessons as well as quasi- simulation, and stimulation, of catatonic and cathartic contaminatory tendencies.
Realize the power of creature comforts, or something else entirely !!!  :) :)
It does you good. An education never goes amiss. That, alone, has to be obvious. Right ? :) :) XXX

Hi Richard....Thank you for your elaborate evaluation of my work....I think you sum it up best in your last line in your comment, "idealistic notions set against harsh reality".....the beast that follows us in life as we just try to make our way in life and love....I hope you are well.  Thank you for taking time to read and comment.  Much love to you and yours.  xo ;)

I am as well as can be expected, considering what goes on. Thanks.
Hopefully you are content. Striving to maintain artistic integrity....as usual !! You should cope admirably, because of your experience and skillset. Who does it like you ? Right ? Wants and needs expressed so freely, beyond the inhibited " gesticulation " !! Talent, should be respected. And, preserved at all costs.
Likes and loves should be commendably appreciated. Through structured analysis of that which is given for the sake of fulfilling visions and texts of note.
XX  :)

You, know how to please. Why would you not ?
Your experience speaks for itself. What industry !!  :)

My Dear Cherie,

The fires of love and passion
Cannot be superseded by the beast
Engulfed in embraces of loving
One's vulnerability will be ceased

All my love,

Hi dear Larry...Perfect summation...Sometimes we need a reminder that we are loved and let go of our insecurities from past experiences that  are like a dragon over our shoulder...But once embraced by love, it casts out fears....Thank you for your lovely verses.  Love n Hugs xo
