Poem -

Confessions on the Staircase

Confessions on the Staircase

We met on the stairs, prepared to share our desire
Lying down upon set stone where dreams dare aspire
The staircase, our backdrop for love's sweet expression
Sheltered our kisses in moonlight’s shadowed discretion

My long-trained dress, swirling in iridescent blue
Served as our silky blanket for pleasures overdue
As we exchanged breaths in midnight’s peak procession
His body made vows of penetrating confession

Whispered words massaged my ears of his love's devotion
Wild rhythmic tides came in on waves of intense emotions
Melodic moans were ours alone upon steps of rapture
An improvised bedroom scene in spontaneous capture

Only the stars witnessed our impromptu rendezvous
No consequence to our visit’s beautiful pursuit
With clasped hands, our impassioned spirits danced, interlaced
Playful wiles, naughty smiles, from confessions on the staircase

Hello Cherie.
it is always so easy for me to feel the expressed love in your write..
I am sure it flows from that God given spring of warmth you so richly possess
In that heart of yours.. lovely poem my friend.

Hi Wilford.  Awwww..Thank you.  That is such a very kind thing to say about my poem. I am very sentimental over love for sure!  Lol....I like to do more playful writes time to time to show that love needs expression and sometimes any time, any place in a spontaneous  moment..lol   Thank you for your kind support.  Love n Hugs, ;)

Hi Sketchartistjacobs!  Thank you!  That is a very flattering comment. I love passionate poetry and wanted to create a scene that was spontaneous and fun for two lovers to let their emotions out and feel a bit risque in a public place outside, but protected by the night sky's approval to protect them...lol.  I am glad that you liked it.  Thank you for your support! xo ;)

Thanks Tony!  I am glad you say you think you remember this one but it seems better.  I reworked it today for my book, and I was hoping it flowed better and had better, creative verses to portray the playful scene.  I love to think of any kind of scenario to portray love's need to express itself....My back hurts just thinking about lying on stairs though....I am getting old...but it seems romantic to write about. Thank you for your support. xo Love n Hugs, C

HI Greg...That is a very kind compliment...Thank you!  I have to always believe in love and keep the romance alive....or I think I would die!  Lol...I just love LOVE.  It is what motivates and inspires above all else in this world, so I have to write about it.  Thank you. xo ;)

My Dear Cherie,

On the staircase just after midnight
My true love and I embraced
He pulled me close and kissed me
My pounding heart arace

.
We floated in the night mist
To the Heavens up above
Lost for all eternity
In the beauty of our love

All my love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry....Those are beautiful verses in response to my poem.  Thank you.  I find love such an inspiring force that I have to write about it.  Romance is never dead when a romantic heart allows the dreams to stir and motivate in real life. It is a state of mind.  It is so beautiful to me. I appreciate your ever complementary verses in response that let me know you understand and get it!  Love n Hugs, ox

Cheerie,
Could you possibly be any more sweet, AND exciting??!! It's a very powerful, amazing combination!
That was fantastic! So romantic, yet so clandestinely(is that a word?) sensual!! Oh my gosh, I think I need to go into that little room within the bathroom, and allow brisk water to sprinkle upongst me(was that clandestine for a cold shower? Thanks!).
Honestly, though, you amaze me. I really love the two beautiful sides of you, especially knowing that your moral, faith side is the lead side. It's so unique, and beautiful in this day and age. Please don't ever change!!
As far as the writing, it was beautifully penned, and arranged, and filled with gorgeous, provocative lines. Some of my favorites are:
'With clasped hands, our impassioned spirits danced, interlaced
Playful wiles, naughty smiles, from confessions on the staircase'

I loved that. I love playfulness, and how you followed it up with 'naughty smiles'. Beautiful.

and:

'Melodic moans were ours alone upon steps of rapture
An improvised bedroom scene in spontaneous capture'

Ummm...hello! I'm at work! LOL. Kidding, but beautifully exotic(I was going to write erotic, but this is a 'G' movie).

All in all, beautiful, and exciting, Cheerie. You're phenomenal.

Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Hi Matthew!  Yay!  I was sponsoring a secret contest on Cosmo to see who would be the first person to say that I am "sweet and exciting" and you said it!  I don't know what your prize is, but I will come up with something silly.  Some people think I am just sweet, and others think I am just exciting...but you said I am both! Wow!  Lol...Seriously, I get thrilled when something I write has some kind of emotional response, and I love that yours was that this was sensual and arousing....as intended.  I think it would be kind of painful on the back to have a romantic rendezvous expressed on hard stone stairs, but it seemed a romantic scene to portray at the time when I wrote it...lol.  Thanks for making me feel it came across sexy.  I am putting this one in my book.  Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;) xo

Cheerie,
You're remarkably swexciting! As a matter of fact, you just created that word by being so amazing! (Note: at first it combined without a 'w', but the censors icksnayed that, and also made me cover up my navel when I filled in for Barbara Eden on I Dream of Jeannie. You're like a perfect person, I hope you know that.
Lurve and hrugs,
Matthew.

Lol....I a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from perfect, but thank you for just believing in me, Matthew.  You are the best. ;) Love n Hugs

PS- Can I see the footage of when you filled in for Barbara Eden on "I Dream of Jeannie" ?  Bummer they made you cover up your navel....Was it because you had lint in there or because you are hairy?  ;)

In the movie " A History Of Violence " there are negotiations on the stairs. This must be pointed out as uncomfortable, and, hazardous. The means to bring peace, as well as harmony, must not be threatened by souls putting  their lives in danger. Especially, at a certain age. You, have to respect the passing years. And, tears. Or, the sweat of toil. The ways of the world must not mean you put yourself at unnecessary risk. Just, saying.
Look to the longer life to make a difference. Do not let the " bad habits " of others divert you, off the road. To, be in peril. Even, of some hideous disease. Probably, through lack of cleanliness. In, the cult of the " wayward mind " there has to be those who wish to fly a flag. Hoist, the symbol of health and safety regulations. Not, from legislation. But, from good old-fashioned " common sense " ! Well, I think so ! Do you not think, the same ? Being, of a certain disposition, and, frame.
The write gives cause, to go further. To, achieve better. Far, from the humdrum worries. Of, the vacant thought. And, the misplaced, poorly taught.
X X  :)

Lololol....I cannot stop laughing after reading your commentary, Richard....I have to say that I agree with you about the perils of making out on stone hard stairs....Not the safest place for especially us older generations.  What was I thinking?  Lol  ;)   Well, I guess I was wanting a romantic scene that  felt a bit spontaneous and fun......One of those once in a lifetime moments that asks for two who love each other to just go with the moment of passion.  Now, I did not follow through to see if they had to go to the chiropractor of had injuries occurred from their night of passion, but I hope not.  I would like to think it went down as a very risky but fun night to let their inhibitions go and create a magical memory...but then again....I did not follow through to find out.... lol.

At this serious time of the pandemic, yes, I also agree we all have a responsibility to be clean and wash our hands and keep social distance to do our part to get the spread in control..I pray that happens sooner than later or a vaccine is out to help. I have everyone in prayers ......and I asked the couple on the stairs to wash their hands when they got home... ;)

Thanks Richard for your original comments.  Love n Hugs. xo
