Poem -

DECENT

DECENT

Photographs over his shoulder
The family keeping watch
His decent is gaining momentum
Breaths now numbered

Years flutter by as doves taking flight
Health as sand, crumbles neath his feet
Eyes seeing through glass more darkly
Watch years in decades pass as days

So, comfort more welcomed
Soothes care worn bones
Love as evening breezes
Caress time worn skin

So photographs stare
Having paved the way
Meaning all is well
They gather by the gate

So now it’s patience
The last lesson learned
His time not the factor
Only the masters plan

New dawns a surprise
Each sunrise a blessing
Another 24 hours to
Practice God’s Love

So wrong to hasten
Or regret the coming end
Should the last breath be less joyous
Than the first

Shadows now
Faded failures
Tarnished past
All forgiven

Wing my feet
Defeat this gravity
I surrender
To God’s welcoming arms

I was admiring the creative great way you included the mention of God in this. This is an awesome poem and how you fitted ' the Master's plan' is superb . Kudos!

pls pleez do review/ comment my newest poem too, it's nice to hear from fellow poets for exchange of thoughts,  or else it feels like a monologue.
