Poem -

Dragon Battle Song

Fighting Fears and Insecurities

Dragon Battle Song

Judge, if you will, the woman basking on the hill
She wears armor of a warrior, baited for thrill
But inside, she shirks off any glory or praise
Her faithful fears incessantly dictate her days

The flying serpents of ancient world conceptions
Still churn her imagination’s dark deceptions
Somewhere there is a place of heaven’s beckoned door
Closing her eyes, she seeks seraphim skies to explore

Though her insecurities sometimes pose as friend
They prevent her from taming dragons in the end
The beasts continually feast upon her fraught thoughts
Conjured imposers of emotions overwrought

Yet, her vested warrior impression may convince
Those who observe her in the field of recompense
If only she could believe she was surely strong
Those flying serpents would swoop her up to fly along...

To sing sweet victory, in a dragon battle song

Being Me

I live the strength in this poem, Cherie. She seems such a vulnerable warrior...and I love the vulnerability that is painted here. Warrior on the outside...something very different going on within x

Hi Being Me.....You are so perceptive in your comments and analysis of what your read.  Thank you.  Sometimes I wish a dragon would just come drag me away from life and so I can lean their battle song and be much stronger for it....lol  xo ;)  Love n Hugs

Hi Poetess Darkly/Lisa....It is nice to see you on Cosmo!  Thank you!  The world can see what they want to see in someone, but a lot of times there is so much more going on....and our insecurities and vulnerabilities hold us back.  We need to believe in ourselves to overcome battles in life.  Love n Hugs, xo

Hey Gorgeous!!.......I think you may have finally slipped one by me here..... although I can tell she is in some state of flux judging by her dreamy state of mind....... But I'm not sure as to the How's & Why's of her current circumstance...... but it is VERY apparent that she yearns for a time gone by or at least she is reminiscing about it...... All of this aside from her fears and insecurities (smiles).........regardless, it's a compelling/captivating look at a fictional time made real by your ever-impressive creativity....... and the 'way cool 'look inside her thought processes!!........ALL STARS!!....... enjoyed this C!........you clever girl!! (smiles)...... love n kisses........T xo. : )

Hi Tony...lol...Me slip one by you?  Well, this is meant to be a bit elusive...but it speaks of insecurities and fears holding one back in life...and sometimes the warrior woman feels weak inside even as she has to fool the world that she has it together....I don't know...I just like dragons and the idea of overcoming...lol  Thank you for always supporting me even when you do not understand me...lol  I don't understand me either....lol...Love, hugs, n kisses.  C ;)

Hi Jill.  Thank you!  I am honored that you liked this one well enough to pin.  I like to incorporate mythological creatures any time I can for illustration....in this case to carry off the narrator to face her fears perhaps....lol...I appreciate your kind support.  Love n Hugs

You, feel the " field " as the weather deteriorates, to ground breaking conceptualization, breeding intent to mask pursuit of foe, as well as allies ! To, fight " The Glorious Fight " as at the end of " The Stick " ! To, win, is to miss the point. As you, experience, more. Learning, and yearning, mystic and river. Within " Tactical Withdrawal " from mundane homogenization...and, themes reflected upon ( in watery " graves", deemed MUD ).
The landscape providing " hiding holes " to cause AMBUSH. In, the " retreat " you deliberate life. As it, cannot be confined. With expansive " threat " bringing chickens, into the backyard. And, who wants to mess, up, there ?
So, you do not. Delivering the victory salute. For, effect.
" Cosmo "-politan creative urges....given, vent. To, aid " recovery positions " ! How good is, that ? Metabolic rates applied, to metaphoric " warfare " !! :) :) KEEP IT, UP.  X

Hi Richard. Thank you for your support...I am not sure exactly what you are conveying but my poem was definitely a "metaphoric warfare" of sorts...more of an internal one to overcome insecurities that hold one back. I always find your elaborate comments interesting and a puzzle of clues to piece together....lol....Bless you. xo;)

I think this warrior lady acknowledges her fears and insecurities and is a better and stronger warrior for it...because recognising our weaknesses is a strength in itself...hugs 💕

Thanks Marian. That is a good point because once we recognize our fears and insecurities it gives us something to work on and to become determined to overcome them. I appreciate your Insight. Love and hugs

My Dear Cherie,

Steeled armour protects her body
But her heart lays open bare
Broken in many pieces
Pure love no longer there

.
Will she heal and be strong again
Ride a dragon to the stars
Leave the valley of depression
For distant galaxies afar

All my love,
Larry xxx

HI dear Larry, Thank you for your sensitive verses in response to my poem. I think she should just jump on the dragon and head to a far far away land and forget the one she has lived in...lol  I appreciate your insight and poetic contributions to my work.  Bless you..Love n Hugs
