Poem -

Eggs

Eggs

How not to crack
when the going gets tough
when ice melts like candles
when life gets too much

how when I crack
do I stop the spilling mess
the life that’s inside me
teaching, threatening, telling

how when it cracks
do I put pieces back
without missing a hairline
without living with lack

how to pretend
that in the end
it was all pretense
and I was stone.

Very cleverly written narrative! Painful and raw, with a beautiful delivery 👏🏽
