Poem -

EMBERIC LOVE

EMBERIC LOVE

Burned I ever
That bright?
White hot
Torrid?

I think not,
Those flames
For the mythical lovers
Are reserved

I am run of the mill
I smolder only
My love reaches
Only embers heat

Non the less
I burn
Have been burned
Will burn

Just not white hot
All consumingΒ
With throaty roar
Devouring flames

My love still of worth
To be valued
Deep and desireable
Forever faithful

My painΒ
Is none the less,
When doused
In waves or rejection

My ardorΒ
worth no less
To my run of the mill
Lover

I know faithful
Sacrifice
And till death
We two shall part

If you search for inferno’s flames
Unquenchable passion
A wind blown Harlequin hero
Turn away

If you will accept a common manΒ
I am that unabashedlyΒ
