Poem -

Emotional Ether

Emotional Ether

When the world sends illusions with confusion
I know the sacred place I long to beย
Where I lay my aching heart beside his
Cradled in the arms of the love of my lifeย
Bemused and bewildered, from life's slingshotย
I almost forgot how to understand
The safe sanctity away from worldly wounds
Simply by holding devotion through his hand ย
With his brightest benevolent smile
I revel awhile in soft butterflies' flutter
And cherish the utter of his loving words
The most beautiful, sensual soundsย
That halo around my head as seductive daze
And the destructive ways of the world shatterย
All that matters lingers inside his kiss
I transition from intimidation to bliss
In a matter of seconds, I feel like this
Knowing every secret ever hiddenย
Somehow revealed ย through love's supple touch
Composed of Heaven's highest element
In its longing, emotional ether ย ย
And here I'll stay, never depraved againย

A Lonely Journey

Oh my gosh, Cheerie.ย
You are really evolving into a more and more beautifully talented writer with every poem you write. That was fantastic! (and I'm not going to even mention that I'm so jealous that you could write without rhyming everything, which I have not been able to conquer yet), but that flowed so incredibly! I'm in awe of you, young lady. (Not just your writing, but the person you are).ย
That was just a gorgeous litany of loving, longing, lingering, thoughts, which had my heart wrapped so tightly in it from beginning to end. Simply gorgeous, Cherie(see, serious tone, I called you Cherie, not Cheerie). I loved that.ย
I feel like I could just lay down in soft love forever, now.ย
Here are some lines I loved(even though the whole thing was brilliant):ย

'When the world sends illusions with confusion
I know the sacred place I long to be'ย
(You started off(besides the pic, whoa!) with a beautiful bang. The world is SO full of dichotomy between pleasure and pain, and I agree, there's one place I'd like to be, in the arms of a love).ย

'Bemused and bewildered, from life's slingshotย
I almost forgot how to understand
The safe sanctity away from worldly wounds'ย
(I like this just because I understand it so well. If you lose loving thoughts and ways for a long time, it's a strange land when they suddenly come back, like you have to re-learn them, from the dark).ย

'I revel awhile in soft butterflies' flutter
And cherish the utter of his loving words
The most beautiful, sensual soundsย
That halo around my head as seductive daze'ย
(That's just beautiful).ย

and:ย

'I transition from intimidation to bliss
In a matter of seconds, I feel like this
Knowing every secret ever hidden'ย
(Life is so intimidating, and hard, but love is it's own entity, and it overshadows life, and makes sense).ย

I loved that, Cheerie. Great writing.ย
Love and hugs,ย
Matthew.ย

Hi Matthew.ย  Once again you have given me this professional write up in commentary that should be a paid job for you. Thank you.

I do have a hard time not rhyming with a rigid format in verses, but for this one I did want the looser freer feel to just let the theme ride it out as the main focus.ย

I am very sentimental over focusing on love and that safe place. There have been many times in my life where I felt I had to start over and relearn how to allow myself to be loved. Material things all pass away in this world, but love is the ONE thing we carry with us always, even when we die. It must be pretty important!ย

I wish we could freeze time and focus on the moments where we feel nothing but bliss and euphoria of love....and never leave that place. That is what this poem is really about....letting the world's influence and lack of values fade into the distance and focus on the beauty of love.ย

Thank you for always understanding my intentions of heart. I felt sure you could understand and relate to parts of this poem. Bless you. You are the best!ย  Love n Hugs, ox Cheerie/Cherie....whichever!ย  Lolย  ย ย

Hi Pratibha. Lolย  You made me laugh with your comment about no conquering this genre yet.ย  I did not know that love poems would be my trademark, but once I came on Cosmo, they just naturally poured out of me. I just love them. I am glad you found my poem cosy and warm...I like that. Thank you. xo ;)ย ย

Wow, I think Mattew said it all really, I would just add that I am amused at how you can change tack from one poem to another. A very talented artist you are.
Stay safe.ย  Barry x

Hi Barry. Thank you. It is challenging for me to do so many love poems and to be sure they are all different and do not sound the same. That makes me feel good that you said you are amused at how I can change tack from one poem to another. Thank you. It motivates me to keep writing when I receive such kind comments. Bless you. xo ;)

Hi Marion. Thank you. I like to write about love in a way that shows its strengths despite an imperfect world. I do think those who attain such a trust in love are very lucky and blessed. Thank you for understanding. Love n Hugs, xo ;)

Hey C!!โ€ฆ...this is SOOO good!!โ€ฆ..when you take the ordinary.....and make it the extraordinary......you stumble upon greatness......you, dear friend.....have struck gold here....and if it continues...your pen will become an integral part of your hand...at which point you will, quite easily, qualify for disability!! (smiles)โ€ฆ.this is TOO good for COSMO.....and seriously belongs in the 'top three' poems you have ever written....Just my opinion of course!!โ€ฆ...ALL STARS - ALL GALAXIES & PINNED - PLASTERED - and STAPLED!!โ€ฆ..Brilliant friggin' work!!โ€ฆ.So VERY proud of you!!โ€ฆ...T xo : )
Ps. you should seriously consider sending this in to the "NEW YORKER" !!

Hey T!ย  I am blown away that you think this poem is in my top three poems I have ever written because I have written thousands....lol. This was a challenge to not get into my usual formal rhyming verse....I wanted it to be more prose and freestyle. I wanted to get across the desperate need to be held in that safe place away from what the world portrays as truths that are not. I think intuition is very important.ย  I am so happy that you liked this one so much. It is my latest, and I am always hoping to improve.ย  Love n Hugs, xo ;)ย

To overcome emotional turmoil is to invest in another or others. Through love, and RESPECT. In others you can find that which makes you feel better, about life and yourself. In the way of passion and commitment there is loyalty born of reciprocal trading of ideas and positivity. Physical harmony embodies the sharing of philosophy and complimentary worth to instill value to relationship, and partnership. In " tying the knot " or " hugs " there is joy, at finding place, called " HOME " ! Here, together, there is found the base to explore from, and promote connections through work and play to society. And, expand the BENEFITS OF CIVIL ORDER.
In the man-made landscape you see love, promise, and hope. To BUILD upon the past, with fresh connection, something more, than thought possible.
PEOPLE MAKE A PLACE. PEOPLE BUILD A FUTURE. PEOPLE INVEST EMOTIONALLY, IN BETTER.
This is shown everywhere. " Who votes for worse ? " Emotion is a guiding force to achievement. And, satisfaction.ย  X

Hi Richard. I think you are onto something powerful when you say we need to invest in love and respect...That is the key in the best emotional state of a love affair. We must invest emotionally totally to make love work.ย  Thank you for your elaborate insights. Love n Hugs. xoย
