Poem -

Emphatic Stand

Emphatic Stand

Dear Love,

I want to spend my time where the sun always shines
To experience your kinetic kiss as mine
Mountains must move, twisting rivers must overflow
Wonders wait as witness for our love’s afterglow

Thunder and lightning seem frightening over the sea
Their energy excites love’s storm inside of me
Just as the ocean rolls with emotional reeling
I’m aware of the intensity of this feeling

A miracle caresses my heart with a choice
Professing the truth when I hear your gentle voice
An unstoppable force, convincing and stirring
Bestowed beautiful bond between us occurring

Day after day, keep loving me simply this way
With sentimental embrace and spontaneous play
Your eyes have already kissed me before your lips
And your laugh holds me close in mesmerizing grips

Dear Love,

Find me in reverie’s wooed whispers of acclaim
I’m with you in spirit, experiencing the same
Every day, feel my promise with extended hand
To have and to hold, when love takes emphatic stand

OK, Cheerie,
I told you that your next poem would be my favorite(I'm psychic, like Nostradamus), and it happened!
Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. As I told Jill on one of my comments, you are the Reverend of Romance!
Seriously, though, that was beautiful, and flawlessly crafted, and your heart poured out beautifully again. I love the way you created the form of a gorgeous letter written to a love, and the wording is amazing. I love the lines
'Mountains must move, twisting rivers must overflow
Wonders wait as witness for our love’s afterglow'. Quite beautiful. And, I don't know if you know this, but the group Genesis has an awesome song called Afterglow! In it, he says, 'But I, I would search everywhere, just to hear your call, and walk upon stranger roads than this one, in a world, I used to know before. I miss you more', reflecting your beautifully longing poem. You are so cool!!
But my favorite stanza is:
'Day after day, keep loving me simply this way
With sentimental embrace and spontaneous play
Your eyes have already kissed me before your lips
And your laugh holds me close in mesmerizing grips'

That's brilliantly written, and so sweet(play is such a great thing with someone you love).
So, all in all, fantastic! New favorite!
You are the Guru of Gooey! (or something like that. lol).
Loved it!

Matthew.

Wow, Matthew!  I don't know what to say!  I am happy you like this one so much.  I really like Genesis music, and I very recently listened to that song on Youtube, actually.  It is a great song.  Sometimes love has struggles, but fights for its position against all odds...as I expressed in the verses you pulled about the "mountains must move, and twisting rivers must overflow"...Miracles seem unlikely, and trials insurmountable, but not with love pushing its agenda. Those were my thoughts.  You also picked the stanza that I like best....Love should be playful and free and recognize love before even the first kiss.  I will always be a hopeless romantic...sigh..what can I say?  I am so grateful for your support and understanding of my sentimentality over love...Thank you, M.  Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

You're so welcome, Cheerie!
Don't ever stop writing those gorgeous love sonnets. We must always believe in it(and you make us do so), and it's truly what matters, nothing else.
Stay awesome!!

Matthew.

" WHATEVER, TURNS YOU ON !! " You, go, for it. At your age, it could be important. Could it not ?
Life, is too short to waste, you know. It, is fragile, so must be exploited, fully.
Take the " bull, by the horns "....to make the most of each day. Where, love and laughter is concerned. Obviously.  :)
How, nice to realize your needs. At this stage of the cycle. The river runs to the sea, you know !! Knowledge is key to travelling a wondrous length, of channel, to uncharted waters.  :) XX

" CHERIE. " " A chance to love is better....than, no chance at all "  ? You, have to be dead, to not want, " that " !! Surely ?
You, know, it, makes sense. Your loving heart, says so !! X

Cheerie!! If you're old, then I'm dinosauric! Don't you dare think that. You have a wonderful, young heart, and mind, and that's what keeps you young and beautiful.
You're awesome.

Hey T...Thank you!  I think I am more hopeful and helpful of a romantic...lol..but you do know me well with how romantic I think. I like that you see my poem as a love letter....expressing hopes and promises...for that is what I was trying to convey.  I always appreciate your opinions and support.  I hope to always express my romantic heart in a way that others may feel the emotions and relate on some level.  I do believe love has to take an emphatic stand to represent an authentic life.  Love n Hugs, xo C

Looking back on your poems, I have noticed how, since you and Tony got together, your poems have developed into a craft that has strengthened in depth and meaning, that has your solitary signature on and have romance written all over them. This even includes the non-romantic ones. This, to me, shows how true poets reflect their inner thoughts. I read them with awe. This may or may not be due to your love for your man, or maybe partially along with the maturing of your written word, but I must admit, I am just a little jealous. Yes, you are a true poet and they are uncommon among us mere mortals.

Awww...Thank you, Barry.  I don't think there is any way that my personal feelings of love cannot be incorporated into what I write....lol.  My poetry becomes an intimate part of my emotions expressed.  Even in my fictional writes, there is emotional truth to what I feel when I write them. It is an honor that you recognize  how closely wrapped up in my work I am.  I am blessed by your comments.  You are not a mere mortal though, dear Barry, as you are a true poet in every sense of the word possible and I appreciate your talents that inspire.  Bless you. xo ;)

Awww...Thank you, Greg.  That is a nice compliment.  I learn from you and others on Cosmo to keep inspired to write.  It is really cool how we all have our own different writing styles on here that reflect our individuality and perspectives on life and our beliefs from experiences and how we see our world.  I appreciate your kind words.  xo ;)

Oh my Cherie!!!

This one is beautiful beyond words and
with this one the metaphor "echoes of greatness"
does not apply.

it "SCREAMS " greatness.
sincerely.

great work my friend.

Cherie. I am hard pressed in picking a favorite modern day poet
because i love Your work, tonys work, and gregs work with equal
amounts of admiration.

you are all great in your OWN way, and in my opinion ALL WAYS.

lately you have also been stepping outside of what can only be
considered your "former comfort zones" and diversifying your
works to include new themes and subject matters you did not
attempt before, and that is greatness. THAT is how ones evolves
as an artist.

to quote bertrand russel: any artist, or philosopher who does
not change their view after years of reflection ceases to be an
artist and becomes a victim of Dogma.

you are an ARTIST and PHILOSOPHER of Range/

love ya friend.

Thank you so much, J.  That means so much.  I take my poetry seriously and want to keep evolving and improving.  It helps my novel writing too when I keep pushing myself to keep learning.  Your opinions means so much because you are such a talented poet, and I learn from you....one of the most original poets I know.  Love ya too!  I am very blessed by your words of validation.  xo ;)
