Poem -

Fate's Fair Advance

Fate's Fair Advance

Hello, my friend
Where do I begin?
Shall I pretend
This isn’t the end?

Dance with me, here
If the coast is clear
It may appear
We step in good cheer

Kiss me, softly,
Daftly, yet lofty
Waiting’s costly
Love’s tears stream salty

I sense goodbye
In your saddest sigh
Regrets apply
Too real to deny

I’ll save a dance
For a second chance
Some day’s romance
In fate’s fair advance

Thank you, Jill....I was not sure if I wanted to post this one because it is not my usual style...and I am not really used to doing short choppy lines.  But I wanted to try something different and not in my comfort zone.  I am glad you seem to like it though...Thank you. xo ;)  Love n Hugs

Marionette!
I like that you interject! Thank you, I'm honored!
Now, may I interject that it's really nice to see you, and Cheerie, and Jillian all in one place, because you're three wonderful people, and I enjoy all of you so very much!
I'm sorry I've been non-existent, but I've been as sick as a dog...and a sick dog, not a healthy one! I missed you guys, but am starting to mend...not mend as in socks, but heal. You know what I mean! I'll be back.
Keep interjecting, it's fum!
Love,
Matthew.

Awww...you're so sweet!
I haven't written anything in a while because I've been busy hacking up my lung all weekend, but that's probably a good thing for you guys. Maybe I'll do a poem about how much I've coughed lately. Do you think that would resound with the Cosmo world. It will be called A Cough for Abercrombie. What do you think?

Oh sorry you've been sick Matthew, you've got to be more alert now with that Corona virus thing. It would be ok if if you lived in UK cos you'd be safe so long as you wash your hands( NHS advice...🤔🤔)...so we are all safe here in UK and soap sales are bombing!🤩 Anyway you're better now...another contest?? If we let you win?? Cherie's turn to choose 😆😆

Jillian,
I probably missed 614 poems by you in the last 2 days because I've been ill, and I apologize. I will catch up on your last 3 days when I have a hundred days available..(??). You crazy writer, you! But wonderful writer.

Cheerie,
You're so versatile. I really liked your experiment.
I really love that first stanza!

'Hello, my friend
Where do I begin?
Shall I pretend
This isn’t the end?'

What a great beginning! It's a really sad, beautifully written, goodbye.
You are such a great writer. Wonderful poem.
Sorry I've been absent on here lately, but I've been a bit under the weather, but I always love your writing.
Great job.
Love,
Matthew.

Hi Matthew.  I feel honored that despite you being sick, you still took time to read and comment.  I am not very confident in this poem, but was trying to be different in how I format and rhyme.  I do appreciate that you still show me support and picked up on it being different....You still got the feel of what this poem was about...a sad goodbye....but also glimmer of hope for the future. Please do not apologize, as you are always appreciated.  I hope you feel better soon.  Love n Hugs, xo ;)

Cheerie,
I could be deceased, and I would still take the time to read and comment on your poetry...just via a seance-y type of thing. You're a wonderful person, and you deserve all the praise in the world!
You're multi-faceted in your writing skills, and so wonderfully, refreshingly nice.
Have a wonderful day!
Love,
Matthew.

Lol...So you are saying you would haunt me if you were dead and still comment on my work?  Interesting...but I am a little weirded out by that, and I much prefer you stick to the old fashioned way of commenting in your mortal sweet self...deal?  Lol But thank you in a strange way of always making me feel appreciated.  ;) xo

I love it...pinned. it's meaning is clear and that makes it powerful and zap the reader. I think it's good to experiment with different styles Cherie, I do it all the time, some work, some don't...this works. I hope the subject here gets a second chance...hugs 💕

Yay!  You pinned it, Marion!  You got it!  I was afraid with doing such choppy verses it would lose some of the meaning.  I need to step out of my comfort zone time to time to experiment with poetry.  Thank you for your kind support.  I should have known you would understand, my friend....lol  Means so much. xo Love n Hugs

My Dear Cherie,

Sometimes, in life we take a chance
We trust our smitten hearts
To the oldest of traditions
That are called "Fate's Fair Advance"

.
We open up our lonely Souls
So new love can enter in
But quickly do we find out
We have no common goals

All my love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry....Thank you.  I believe so much in love, and it is worth taking the chance to experience it and risk getting hurt.  Fate has a plan for us, and sometimes it is not revealed to us all at one time, but in time's passage and patience....Thank you for your beautiful verses.  Love n Hugs, xo
