Poem -

Fields of Gold

Fields of Gold

A borrowed sweet breeze whipped through the wheat fields of gold
The sky reflected its amber, brilliantly bold
I walked upon this gleaning scene, feeling intrusive
Touching golden bowing heads, preening unobtrusive

The sun's transparent glow in golden show of stalk
Caressed my skin as I tarried in reminiscent walk
Replaying days he came to lay amidst fields of gold
With wiley whispers in love's display of soft unfold

I recall the wind when his hands would tease and linger
In grasps of my sun gilded hair between his fingers
His incessant kisses granted passion's fusion
The wheat bowed and bent to shelter us in seclusion

As the sun set, in gold-kissed flecks, the field shimmered
And all magic within my heart, glistened and glimmered
Love's expression, I remembered with comforting hold
Entranced by nature's nuance upon its fields of gold

Hi Greg. Thank you!  I am honored that you pinned this one. I love the version of the song, "Fields of Gold" that Evynne Hollens does. Her husband, Peter Hollens does great acapella songs. You should look him up on Youtube. I have several of his CDs with his wife.

I wanted to paint a beautiful golden scene that would be a perfect backdrop for love and those carefree feelings of love! I am glad you liked it. I appreciate all your kind support. xo Love n Hugs ;)

Being Me

This is truly beautiful, Cherie!  I love the "gold" theme in it... Along with nature's Barley fields and sunshine, gold is also very shiny which allows for reflections.  And also, I adore that song... It is one of my all time favourites (not heard this lady sing it before though)... That song, and Romeo and Juliet- Dire Straits (I think that's what it's called)... And a few others too of course (I haven't got just two all time favourite songs).
Great work... Fabulous poem x

HI Tina. Thank you so much!  I really tried to play up the color gold in this one to paint a glistening scene for love to transpire. I like the idea of a carefree love that feels genuine and uninhibited amidst nature's shelter in glowing gold. I love that song too!  I like Sting's version, but this is a newer one that slows it down and just focuses on the beauty of the lyrics. It relaxes me. I am so happy you liked it. Thank you for your kind support. xo Love n Hugs;)

HI Nigel. Thank you so much!  I am so honored by the pin. I am sentimental over the kind of love I portrayed here....free and innocent in nature...just focusing on the beauty of nature and feelings that get lost in the fields of gold for a very golden moment of affections. Sigh. Thank you for your kind support. xo ;)

Oh, Cherie, I love the golden light that shines throughout this poem. It's vibrant and alive with love, light, and beauty. It actually put a smile on my face.
Not to mention the perfectly worded rhyming poem.

A Lonely Journey

Cheerie,
I don't think you could have picked a more beautiful theme for such a gorgeous poem, because you ARE gold, my friend, and that was wonderful.
What a dreamy, glowing, lovely piece of art. You're so great writing love.
And I just loved the way you varied between the golden touch of nature, and the man, in the passion. That was just brilliant! Beautiful writing. I'm glad you're back to romance, and love, because you feel it so well, and it cascades onto the page. I loved that!
The initial line that made moved me was:

'A borrowed sweet breeze whipped through the wheat fields of gold
The sky reflected its amber, brilliantly bold'
(I love that the sky reflected the amber, that's awesome! Why can't I write like you??!!)

Then, I loved:
'The sun's transparent glow in golden show of stalk
Caressed my skin as I tarried in reminiscent walk'
(Why? Ummm...it's kind of exciting, for some reason. Sorry).

The third stanza was beautiful, as it portrayed the passion with nature, and man, as I referenced above.
And this line, I just loved, because it brought to my mind such beauty, because I know you, and to be there must be the most wonderful thing ever:
'And all magic within my heart, glistened and glimmered'

Wonderful, Cheerie, you amaze me.
Love and hugs,
Matthew.

Hi Pratibha. Thank you!  I just love the song too.  It totally inspired the poem and I could see the romantic scene. Music often helps me write out emotions that come easier as I become moved. I appreciate your thoughts. Love n Hugs xo

" What do YOU make of " the harvest " when rays of hope have delivered on their promise ? !! "  :) :) YOU would make good of the " food for thought " ! Probably, conceived as nourishment for " the soul. " I, should be so bold to imagine.
" Why not ? " Obviously.  :) :)  X

" DO NOT FORGET, the importance of the soil. " Things need to be in a certain " way," to achieve best result. Clearly.
You, can tell I come from Norfolk.

Absolutely....It is all important to produce the best results....I did not know you come from Norfolk. Canada is a place I have always wanted to visit and see Niagara Falls. ;)

Yes, Richard!  Why not!  I think we reap what we sow in life, and why not enjoy the harvest when you have nurtured and made it all it can be to enjoy?  Lol  Those fields of gold can be pretty alluring.  Thank you for your views.  Love n Hugs Cherie xo
