Poem -

From The Lead Of My Pencil

From The Lead Of My Pencil

There’s a portrait of you in my heart
Not one of the masterpieces I have seen
Not a work that the world can be proud of
But a work that I will fight the world for
I sketched its skeletons
I painted it with my unversed brush
I know of its flaws
I know none will want to have it
But I worship it every day
It’s my very first painting
The first I ever tried my hands at
There’s a portrait of you in my heart
My heart is covered with its colour
The first colour that my heart saw
It may not be prepossessing
But it’s dear
Dear to my heart
