Poem -

Gaelic Girl

Gaelic Girl

Though I do not know the Goidelic language of my ancestry
There is definitely characteristic Irish in me
Born out of time, with a restless spiritual obsession
I cling to my convictions without the world's intercession

Femininity presents itself in my eyes of bluish-green
For affection, I dance the silliest jig you've ever seen
Yet, I gain composure and speak my mind in Irish intellect
You must exude gentleness and charm to earn my respect

I feel like a tempered Gaelic woman of spirited force
Lost without the accompaniment of beloved regal horse
With a hint of auburn hair, and typical Celtic will intact
I hope my Irish empathy makes an everlasting impact...

Forever a Gaelic girl at heart

Hi Lorna....Thank you...I was born in America but I definitely appreciate my heritage...I loved my grandmother and grandfather so much on my mom's side, and they taught me about love, God, and their Irish roots...and I feel it as a part of me...and respect that culture....I am kind of just making fun of myself...the silly personality things that I attribute, playfully, must come from my Irish side.  lol...Thanks Lorna...xox Love n Hugs, Cherie

HI Vladimir...No Irish banshees in my family.....lol....On the surface I am an all American southern girl, but my roots claim otherwise...There is a lot of Irish personality and look from my  mom's side. I wanted to plug into that part of myself.  Thank you for reading and commenting...xox  Cherie

Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste, ná Béarla cliste.

Hey J....I tried to translate  something about without language without country,
without freedom without life. ????  America is made up of many eclectic people from many countries....I wish I had a chance to learn that side of myself that runs on my mom's side.  I used this poem to just poke fun of the Irish side that seems to be a part of my personality....Ireland is a beautiful country...I hope I can visit someday...Thank you for your support....oxo Cherie

Hi Debs!  Thank you!  I want to do some research on my ancestry and really learn about my Irish roots...I really believe I have  a STRONG personality like my mother's side with the Irish heritage/ancestry.   I would love to visit Ireland someday...don't know if it is feasible, but it would be so fascinating to me....I am glad you are my Celt sister!  The Welsh and Irish are part of that Celt group for sure!  Bless you for your kind support....Love n Hugs, xox Cherie
