Poem -

Gallows

Come into the gallows
and lay your sorrows down
Bind them in the ropes
and silence any grievous sound

Come into the gallows
And lay your weakness down
Hang them with the ropes
on display for the whole town

Come into the gallows
and lay your failures down
return into your castle
as a king without a crown

Come into the gallows
as a man who's on his own
free from destiny
without a fate written in stone

Come into the gallows
and witness freedom’s glory
look into the face of sorrow
and see a joyous story

Come into the gallows
and witness power of belief
look in the eyes of weakness
and see a strong man on his feet

Come into the gallows
and know triumph is there
look on the empty throne of failure
and know that victory’s its heir

Come out of the gallows
as a man who’s truly free
a bearer of a gift
Veiled from the weak who choose to flee
free of earthly cares
and chains crafted by society
whose spirit is unbound
and is sane in his insanity
