Happy Father's Day

The birth of all my children
Pain from dreaded contractions
Memories that fade with time
Parents with reconstructions

I welcomed each tiny form
While assisting their mother
Before and after their cry
This duty for no other

With eyes full of compassion
Name set for the first born son
Retreating only for her
Mother being number One

Her contractions' intention
To bring forth what should be ours
But life with it's twist and turns
Showcases men with their scars

Who remembers time well spent
Or nights worth the distance run
What it takes to breed and feed
Can still leave him short of Won!!

Winning the respect from kids
Was never in their small hands
Nor their candle lit for dark
That right is woman's who lends

Parents in reconstruction
Is a father's undoing
All that's done will not matter
Father's day is Mom's knowing
