Poem -

Laughing Matter

They say that laughter is medicine.

But I do not laugh about medicine.

Two years ago, I was just like you.

Alone, afraid, desolate, hopeless.

But then, in the darkest part of me, I crashed.

It was heaven and hell all wrapped up into one.

Or another. I'm not exactly sure.

But all I knew was that I needed it.

And then I fell. I withdrew.

As the sweat poured down my face,

I wondered how I got there.

I was an addict two years in the making.

They say that laughter is medicine.

So no more laughing for me.
