LIFE

Golden glow on cotton trees,
Touch of green on bare feet
Reaching out to butter flies ‘n’ bees
Hearing the thumps of heart beats
That’s what life means!
A kiss, a hug and the blessing too
Fluffs of white on a cup so blue –
Like dapples of light on clueless nights
Fire flies flutter on hopeful flights
That’s what life means!
A loving bark and soft purrs
With lurking hopes in heart-mere burrs
No response from master’s mercy
Yet tails wagging, a delightful courtesy
That’s what life means!
Ups and downs, bumps and blows –
With a ‘perhaps’ in mind, but a pretty glow
Lily – white face but twinkling eyes –
A fear in mind but HOPE’S alive
That’s what LIFE means!
