Poem -

Love's Reconciling Motion

Love's Reconciling Motion

Love’s driven chain link of chivalry never dies
Though rusty armor proves the battles many tears
An ageless fight goes on to preserve our truth’s nerve
A vow transcending the land of Camelot’s years

Is it now I may kiss his brow of ages past?
To look into the gripping eyes of my desire
To recognize the untamed flame’s final reclaim
Of two spirits in inextinguishable fire

Rummage relentlessly through lovesick tortured minds
View the devastation of wrought beauty we lost
The kingdom crumbled to rubble under the guise
Of our deepest secrets, bearing too high a cost

Where is God’s mercy and grace in the name of love?
Oh, suffering knight of unending devotion
Your armor continues to rust, tears kiss the dust
In the curse we share of love’s reconciling motion

WOW!! C!!......this is an amazing look back at the Lancelot & Guinevere tale of woe and deepest remorse.......you've left the flames afire here quite beautifully......with VERY intelligent phrases and glimpses into the potential of that Love story.....I could feel the pain of the destruction caused by them simply falling in Love with one another!!.......this is great work sweetheart!!........PINNED this one for its impressive word choices that create the feel of that time period!!.......kick ass stuff my love!!......smiles......T xo 👍👍👍✴✴❤❤❤✴✴👄👄👌😉

Hi Sweet T....Thank you!  I did not want this to come across "cheesy" so I am glad that you found it beautiful.  I think the story is timeless and sad....and a crime that love is forced to be apart.....but the flames will go on knowing their rightful place...longing for reconciliation..  I am so happy you liked my word choices......as I can be kind of meticulous about wanting a right feel and correct word to express it in my poems.  I love the old King Arthur tales, so it is a natural theme to present in a love poem.  Thank you for your ever present support and encouragement, T.... Means so much. Kisses . xoxxx C

Hi Leah.  Oh thank you!  I really enjoy the love themed poems, and I am a big fan of the King Arthur legends...and Guinevere and Lancelot's sad demise has always bothered me....a tortured love that had no way of succeeding...and yet love still insists on its truth even in forbidable circumstances .....It just is what it is....and always inspiring no matter the situation...I so appreciate your support.  Love n Hugs, xo

Your armor continues to rust, tears kiss the dust

my mind read it as..

Your fortress sifts in auburn, as tears kiss the dust

I don't like to use the same word twice , if only in a certain type of repetitive style of writing, the English language seems to have no limit. 😉 ( Rusty / rust)

A Beautiful write my friend🌼

Hi Merrill....I like your way of thinking...beautiful poetically with what your mind saw through my words.  I don't usually like to repeat words either, and will change them if I find them....I did want to tie the ending with the beginning to reiterate that his armor is still rusting.....waiting for her love....I am happy you liked it and always appreciate your opinions and comments.  Thank you. xo ;)

My Dear Cherie,

He crusades for long lost Chivalry
This Knight from days of yore
He wages constant battle
These mores to restore

.
He bows down to his Lady
And softly takes her hand
In "Love's Reconciling Motion"
He will forever be her man

All my love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry...I wish Guinevere and Lancelot could have had this kind of happily ever after in their love's plea...Beautiful verses....I am forever a romantic at heart and believe love cannot be ignored or denied no matter the situation....I have seen it in my own life and in repeated history.   Love n Hugs, xo
