Poem -

Love's Sacrifice

Love's Sacrifice

She’s been sordidly savaged as love’s sacrifice
Raucously ravaged, repeatedly raped as vice
She wears red’s passion as a medallion of pride
Hoping to hide the crushed spirit of hex inside

She’s damaged goods, her heart exposed for sick slaughter
Mistaken for Satan’s slave, instead of God’s daughter
She lays herself down upon cold slated altar
Waiting for killing blade to strike without falter

She lies quite still, waiting for death to descend
But fatal blow never comes for show’s final end
Instead, she feels compassionate warm hands reveal
Only most genuine motivation to heal

Eyes, that comprise of gentle love’s coronation
Surprise her with soothing embrace’s preservation
Where she can be safe, away from darkness and harm
To feel the truth of love’s character, with sweet charm

Oh, saving grace, of godly men with unfurled wings
Their protective natures refine love without sting
Such gallantry is misconceived as fantasy
But those who witness love’s sacrifice, believe

Another beautiful poem cherie . It seems to me like this girl has been treated so badly , repeatedly ... That she expects something even worse to happen to her or atleast the same again . That's how I interpret it anyway ...but she was saved by a loving lovely hand instead , caring for her instead of hurting .

Your poems are always so good and I love how you write 🌸

HI Charlotte.  You are very discerning and have the theme right....I think anyone that has been mistreated in any way in life, gets used to thinking they either deserve it or become hopeless in seeing another way...It becomes a habitual way of thinking.  I had to add hope to this write...as I do not ever like to feel any situation is hopeless...and though there is evil in this world, there is also good....Thank you, my friend.  Your support means so much to me. I love how you reflect on what you read.  I appreciate that.  Love n Hugs, xo

Hi Cheerie!
You know, I'm not sure how much better you can get as a poet, but you, amazingly enough, keep topping yourself with remarkable, insightful, gorgeous writing. That was a hard one to read, knowing what a wonderful person you are, because it contained pain, directed toward an angel, causing that angel to question her worth, and hurting her, and that's the worst thing that could ever be done. Fortunately, our heroine here, is like you, gorgeous in her faith, and ever-believing in love, and realizes that God loves her, and men made in God's image adore her, and will prevail.
You're amazing. Thank you for portraying such a beautiful, and inspiring poem, and story, for us, you Angelic Author.
Beautiful.
Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Dear Matthew,
I do not know how to write any other way than with my emotions....and truthfully, I have a hard time going back and reading this now that I wrote it out...lol  I think it is so hard to recover from any kind of mistreatment in life...and to feel any worth from those experiences.  God is the most powerful source of love there is...and to turn to His guidance, and through HIS people that show His grace is the only way to heal.  It can be a long process of learning to trust the right people.  Love should not hurt...and those actions that show otherwise are not from God at all.  Thank you for understanding, M.  Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

Hi Cheerie,
I do understand, quite a bit, and sometimes we feel like there's no alternative but to give up, but I don't think God wants that, and He'll show you a light through the darkness, and you know He does care. You're so right, love should definitely not hurt. You're such an intelligent, bright light, you know that?
Please don't ever change the person you are, you're a wonderful inspiration to people, including me.
Hove and lugs,
Matthew.

Matthew, I do not know how to even respond to your kind words.  Thank you, for your understanding.  I cannot even watch television or movies that have torture, or extreme violence and disrespectful behaviors, because they upset me so much...I feel them and take them to heart...I am really sensitive to those kind of scenarios.  I do not understand the world we live in.  Your words are so encouraging and loving...Thank you.  You are the best!  Hove and Lugs back at ya.  Lol xo ;)  Cheerie

You're welcome, Cheerie! (Note: I get the last words here. lol).
You deserve the praise and understanding, and notice, because more people should be like you. The world would be a fantastic place.
There's a reason we...I call you Cheerie, you're pure joy.
Thank you!

HI Jill.  Yay!  I am so happy you liked this one so well to pin it...I am honored...Thank you. I always write from an emotional place that I can relate to.  I honestly have a hard time going back to read this after I have written it now....It stirs up a lot of hard emotions to deal with..but writing poetry is so good to get that stuff out and make it become an entity of its own.  I appreciate your kind support, Jill. xo Love n Hugs

Hi Cheerie,
Sorry to interject, but there's been a rash of emoji thefts from local computers, so you might want to report that to your local Mounties.
Just last week, someone stole my poop emoji! I found it...in the bathroom...but I didn't put it back.
Anyway, I hope you find your emojis!

LOL! Same thing...I think...oh gosh, I hope so. LOL.
I like the poop emoji, too. (and don't tell you, but poop is just a neat word, isn't it? It's funny, and short, and palindromic. It has all the qualities of a fun word).
Enjoy that chocolate ice cream! LOL.
You're great!

See! You love that word, too, don't you??!!
Good word. And I don't mean to be vulgar, but b**b is similar in it's palindromicness, and shortness and funniness. Ah, words!
It seems like people would speak less if they were never invented, doesn't it?

My Dear Cherie,

Her heart was tortured, her body raped
In a cloak of self-loathing, her Soul was draped
She waited for the final blow
To die, and up to Heaven go

.
She heard a rustle in the air
Loving hands then caressed her hair
He rescued her, on that fateful date
Her hero, her saviour, her dear Soulmate

All my love,
Larry xxx

Lol...I love it, Larry....I always want a happy ending...even in the most dismal situations...that hope of a savior or guardian angel/soulmate....lol  I like how you summed up that feeling in your verses in response.  Thank you, Larry.  Love n Hugs to you and Linda xo

Hi Marion.  Thank you.  This was a hard and emotional kind of write to do.  I always want to give hope in situations in life that are painful...as I have been through painful experiences and always look for hope.  I am touched by your kind words, Marion.  Thank you.  I am glad that you understand my intent in my work.  Bless you. xo Love n Hugs  ;)

Thank you, T...I know this is one of my darker themed writes, but it still ends with hope and love...my trademark genre....lol.  Those dark dramatic tragedies in our life are what encourage us to become stronger and teach endurance.  Life is unpredictable, but I will always seek out those situations and people that show love.  It is nice to know you are supportive of my efforts,  Love, hugs n kisses, C xo
