Love's Welcoming Dance

Unfamiliar Steps

Love's Welcoming Dance

There’s a spiritual séance inside my mind
Seducing my senses with loving scenes most kind
Conjuring an apparition in twilight’s twirl
Asking me to freely dance, to forget the world

Is he real or a ghost, exuding such appeal?
Taunting me with gentle demeanor as ideal
He takes my hand for romantic minuet
I’m swept from daily stress in subtle offset

Around and around we go, entrenched in dance
Exchanging empathy, telepathically with glance
And I know he feels my heart’s sad beaten path
Yet, he holds me close, with compassionate laugh

I long to surrender into this reverie
Where I’m a part of him, and he’s a part of me
May stardust never be cleared away from my eyes
This dance gives me chance to drop my disguise

I sense love’s intensity with persuasive change
To view a dream come true feels rather strange
But the unfamiliar fits me like new skin
And his genteel eyes welcome me to sway therein…

So, I learn the steps, to love’s welcoming dance

Hi Charlotte...Thank you!  ;)  I enjoy doing many different themes of love poems.  And this could be interpreted as that dream of the perfect love....feeling awkward, like learning new dance steps how to approach an unfamiliar beauty that is felt....but wanting to learn very much!  Lol  Thanks for your kind support. xo Love n Hugs ;)

A Lonely Journey

Cheerie,
That's just one of the most beautiful, romantic things I've ever read. Gorgeous! So much love and hope in your beautiful lines! You're amazing. I'm waving a white flag regarding attempting any more romantic writes, because you're too good.

My absolute favorite part of that is:

'I long to surrender into this reverie
Where I’m a part of him, and he’s a part of me
May stardust never be cleared away from my eyes
This dance gives me chance to drop my disguise'

That's gorgeous. That second line twirls in the dance, and the stardust, in your eyes...fantastic!

Beautiful writing, as always, my wonderful friend!

Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Hi Matthew....Don't you dare wave a white flag saying you won't attempt any more romantic writes...You are wonderful at them and have your own romantic style that is appreciated and loved.  I am happy that you liked my poem, but I always appreciate the love genre and feel inspired to see others write them too.  I sometimes wonder if the world will ever take off its blinders and see how important love is and to express it and be emotional about it...and not put on airs that other things take precedence....because nothing else should!  I will always want to promote what God instituted because He IS love and understands its value in this world...a most noble pursuit.  Thank you for always getting me.... Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

Hi Cherie, is the spiritual being that you dance with perhaps God?? So that you are embraced by the purest form of love and understanding where earthly struggles and human imperfections are a thing of the past. Though I may have put my own interpretation on this, either way it is stunningly beautiful and full of emotion 💕

My Dear Cherie,

In a dream, I was deftly dancing
New steps, I had mastered well
I welcomed in my Soulmate
Our hearts in love had fell

.
I awakened to reality
To find my dream was really true
We were twirling on the dance floor
I was in the arms of you

All my love,
Larry xxx
