Poem -

Meet Me Halfway

Meet Me Halfway

Meet me halfway, upon awaiting bridge of dreams
Water crossing is not as daunting as it seems
I would walk a tree log above raging river
To meet your embrace, for kiss of karmic quiver

Once I get out of my own way, you can come through
Love’s portal of portent provides promising view
I can almost feel your touch, with delicate cast
A vision of victory, where love stands steadfast

Meet me mid-way, where mindful measures do matter
Your eyes are my pleasure, where their depths sing sadder
I understand pin-pricks from pain’s persuasive stay
When we clasp each other’s hands, their grip may go away

Venus rules my heart; I hold only affection
Come across the river; end the insurrection
We shall go to a pure paradisical place
Meet me halfway, for the promise of love’s embrace

HI Marion.  Thank you so much!  I really do enjoy coming up with different scenarios of love....and I plan to put a collection together to publish next spring.  I am so happy that you like them.  I have been called, "The Queen of Romance" by my peers on Cosmo that have known me on here since 2014....I had no idea back then that the romance/love genre would become my focused themes...but they have and there is nothing I love better than when readers let me know that they enjoy the romance...sigh....Makes me feel good.  Thanks, Marion. xo ;)

Cheerie,
Your writing is so beautifully romantic, and keeps getting better, and evolving.
I love this because beside the fact that it's romantic, and sweet, it seems to have a more personal, and fun, feeling to it, which is great to see, too. I like the way you say 'once I get out of my own way', it made me smile, because I think it's a little kid on yourself, which is awesome, because despite the wonderful person you are, it shows that you don't take yourself overly seriously, and can laugh about things, which is another tremendous quality in a person. And I know you speak of neuropathy in your comments, so that may play a role in the beautiful personalization of the poem, also.
All in all, it's a wonderfully written, beautifully romantic piece, by a great person, and I enjoyed it so much. Keep writing your romance, and keep getting better, because you're a joy to read.

Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Hello Matthew....Thank you!  ;)  Lol...Yes, you picked up on me putting a little jab at myself.  Only you would get that I think.  Sometimes I am my own worst enemy I believe.  I won't let my neuropathy ever keep me from life though...I am determined!  It means a lot that you say I am evolving in my work, because I am trying to keep improving, and I have become so critical of my work and second guessing them after writing so many over the years.  I want to always challenge myself.  Love is always inspiring, and will always motivate me to want to express its effects in many different themes.  Thank you for being so supportive and encouraging.  Means so much.  xo Love n Hugs,  Cheerie ;)

You're welcome, my awesome friend!
And I know nothing will ever keep you down, you're too great, and strong!
Your work is great! Please keep writing. I love it.

XOXOXO,

Matthew.

PS. I have a tendency to jab at myself once in a while, too, so I really liked that. No one is perfect, right?(although, I think you're pretty close).
Great job!!

Oh, I am always making fun of myself.  I am an accident waiting to happen.  If I were in my poem, I would probably fall off the log into the rushing river below and miss the romantic moment, totally....lol  But I would come back on shore and try again!  For sure!  Love is motivating, and why I always choose to write about it in many different facets.  I think with wacky friends around like you, I will NEVER be able to take myself seriously.  I am far from perfect for sure...but it is nice to be appreciated.  Thank you, M!  ;) xo

Hi!
Yes, you're very far from perfect...if you consider one eighth of one millimeter a great distance. You know, if you did fall off the log, I'm sure the person still on the log would be right in there in a second, because you're great!
Thanks for being so much fum, and so nice!

I am not sure how you always find ways to turn my silly tragedies into triumphs....I like your scenario...I much prefer your assumption as to falling into the water, and the one left standing on the log laughing and taking pictures to publish.  I wish everyone had a heart like yours Matthew.  ;)  xo

Thanks Cheerie! You're so nice!!!
And actually, everyone CAN have a heart like mine, I sell them on Ebay for $1.60 apiece. Sales are pretty good...with the exception of people buying them. Sigh. Yours is the heart to have!
Thanks!

Lol....Awww...Sorry...but your heart is one of a kind anyway and cannot be duplicated.  Ebay sales are down this month anyway.  I tried to sell my toes, because I cannot feel them anymore, but there were no bids.  So, don't feel bad. Maybe you could try selling one of your spleens since you told me you have so many.  Just a thought.  ;)

LOL!!! I love your silliness!! You rule!!
I would purchase your toes in a minute(provided you take an IOU)! I will be vigilant with my upkeep, too. Trimming on a weekly basis, fungus checks, nail polishes, this little piggy games! I'll take great care of them, I promise.
Would you like one of my fingers? Hardly used. I can't give up the spleens. I'm deathly afraid of low bile production, that's why I keep all 13. It's Spleenophobia, a common fear, mainly in the flat lands of Hungary.
I've got 4 duodenums! LOL.
You're the best!

Lol...Duodenums?  Isn't that part of the small intestines?  As generous of a person as you are I am shocked to hear you cannot give up one spleen...I am sure your bile levels are blowing off the charts!  ;)  My toes would love the "little piggy games".... especially the part that goes "this little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home."....very thoughtful of you.  Lol  You keep me in stitches....I cannot keep up.  xo ;)

LOL! I'm not sure what the duodenum is, but it sounds like a fine organ. Well, my bile level is 600 parts per ounce of weight right now, but with this phobia, it never seems to be enough! My doctor says I produce enough bile to digest Europe, but I worry about Asia, too.
YOU are a riot, young lady!! You always keep up, you're great!!
Matthew.

Well, I think duodenum sounds like a legal term that attorneys would use in court....like a clause or something...eg:  "I think if you turn to page such and such of item line 498762  you will find that the defendant acted under the 'duodenum' clause."  I don't know.....Sounds plausible doesn't it?

As far as your bile levels:
You do not need to worry about Asia.  I heard that they export and import bile, but only on Wednesdays.  They are rolling in bile juice!  I think you are okay.  xo ;)

Oh my gosh!!! LOL!! I love crazy people! And not that you're crazy, but you're insane...ly funny! I think I've met my wacky match!
Love the duodenum clause. Exceptionally plausible!
Now I want to write a piece about the duodenum, just for you!
You are awesome!!

Lol...Only you could write that and pull it off!  But if I had to guess what that word meant, it would be some legal jargon terminology...lol  You are so funny.  ;)

MIDWAY. "BETWEEN WHERE AND WHERE ? " Not, considering A to B, obviously. Unless, you want to travel to a climatic destination, WHERE " sun and frolic " abound, amidst, coconut groves of " paradise " terminology, devoid of unnecessary hazardous material ( wary of them, dropping on your head, though ! ). " LIFE-GIVING ", is more appropriate, I feel, due to the milk and flesh, as well as the shell. Who, would not want that ? :)
Is it about the " BOOM BOOM ", rather than the " crack " ? Do not worry. The chances of it happening are remote, a part from the locational factors, involved. It, is in this place, you wish to learn ? Of, love and laughter......and night escapes to the " LAND OF MAKE-BELIEVE ", I suppose !!! Why not ? It, could suit you, actually.
What, a write declaring heart-felt passion. And, more, besides. :) Evidence of your commitment to all " things ", praise-worthy and auspicious, within the " Grand Design " !!!  How good ? Nature and nurture trouncing the false synthetic " promise " of better....that, never comes.YOUR " ANGELIC " PHRASING, if you understand, trampling all over the " MIMIC ", rather than the AUTHENTIC. You, have to get the quality, WHERE, IT, MATTERS !!
XX  :) !!

HI Richard...I suppose I do want to go to the make believe....that place where lovers meet and take that chance to be a beautiful anomaly when they come together.  It is about exploring what draws the heart, and not ignoring that drawing pull that tells you to take that chance in order to not miss out on what could be the best thing in your life...to meet halfway and declare that heart-felt passion that is pent up inside needing release, invested in another.  Thank you for understanding my very sentimental heart in the matters of all things of love and romance.  You know I look up to your opinions.  xo ;)

If, you invest time and effort in the affairs of the world about you, and consequences of heart-felt " ripple-effects ", brought on by pseudo-suggestion related to attraction, you deliberate meaning of emotion to  OPEN THE " INCONCEIVABLE NOTION " up to scrutiny, fulfilling wanton needs, of our " SPECIES " !!! :) How incredible is, that ? May I say ?
In the confusion is discovered the passageway to enlightenment, born of frustrations caused by inadequate response to a willingness to " explore " more, than was ever anticipated. IT IS IN THE MIX, THAT YOU FIND THE FIX.
Love, is a symptom of ambitions to release oneself of " chains ", permanently. You dare to put efforts into achieving " the dream " scenario. If, you only get half-way, it, is still preferable to where you were. How nice ? And, physical statements could be involved also. BONUS benefits, always gratefully received. Don't you think ? :) :) You, need " nutrition " on " the journey " !! Clearly.
You, have to appreciate where you can be, as well as what you have, and where you are in relation to objective " causation. " It, is in our nature, to improve our lot. Through industrious complimentaries, to influence positivity !!! :)
YOU, HAVE TO FEEL GOOD. Don't you ?
WHY, SUFFER WHEN YOU NEED NOT ? Even, if you can not go all the way !!! :) :)
Write, of substance. If, I may so. And, I surely will. Considering it, all.
BRAVO. N.B. Fair wind, grabbing the " main sail " !!! To reach, that. PROMISED, LAND ? !!! :) :) It, is where you plant your feet, that you know the soil best. Don't you agree ?
To, health........ and happiness. And, it, fulfilling our dreams. XXX

Amen, Richard...I am all for not suffering and looking for ways to be happy in life and love....definitely!  ;)  Dreams are important to help set goals in life and motivate us to make changes when we are not fulfilled....I like your attitude.  Where we invest our time and effort shows what is important to us in life...and the way we want to be loved in life....That is my focus...lol xo ;)  Thank you for your constant guidance.

You, do not have to let your dreams go. You, can hang on to them, using them as motivation in love....and lifestyle choices !! The way you organize your philosophy based on accumulation of " presiding factors " accounts for the " CREATIVITY " within your personal space. :)
Along with those you choose to be part of your " VISION ", you gather support for a " cult of reciprocal collusion " based on " FAMILY " and familiar mindsets. The collective diagnosis encourages you to achieve goals on " the journey ", inside relationship, and beyond, it. :) :)  Why, would it not ? The " environment " you develop with the like-minded garters significant forces to realize full potential of that which is sought most. Yes ?
WHO, DENIES THEMSELVES HELP IN ANY ASPECT OF " CAUSE " ? !! And, the path to systematic reward.....free of restrictive " balls and chains " !! :) Based on undeniable urges, enhanced by natural instinct and impulse. How complete must you feel ? Once, everything comes together. In the landscape you have dreamt of, for probably some considerable time. Yes ?
Heightened awareness and sensory perception reflects increased stimulation from all, and what this " life " has to offer ( unity of purpose mends any hurt, and forges the future ). COMMUNITY " SPIRIT " SHOULD NEVER WITHER, ON THE VINE !! Or, off it !!! :) Bottoms up !!! :)
TAKE CARE. XXX

When you think about, it. We, are all the same. Aren't we ?
When straining to achieve what we desire, we all sit together, proud of our gains within the struggle. IT, IS ALL IN THE FIGHT. You, must recognize what is a " blessing " and what, is not. Mustn't you ?
You grasp any opportunity of love, in the dream-state, to make it all fit.
ENJOY, THE LIFE YOU LEAD. ENJOY, THE LIFE YOU NEED.
Never, let doubters persuade you otherwise. Jealousy, can rear its ugly head. YOU KNOW ? Claim the " plot " you want. :)
Meet the challenge head-on, with any helping-hand, to make it all seem worthwhile. And, then SMILE. :) :) :)

You are right, Richard.  It is all in the fight....I hate fights, but the one worth fighting is for claiming a genuine life that fits.  It IS indeed all in the struggles of life that we get where we want to be....hopefully...lol...There are always doubters and challenges for sure....I am learning to be stronger in life, Richard.  I am a work in progress! Thank you, my friend. xo ;)

My Dear Cherie,

Halfway across the river, I will meet you with open arms
We will hold each other tightly, and share each others charms
Together we will tip-toe, and cross to the other side
Our love, the equilibrium, will guide our every stride

All my love,
Larry
