MODESTY OUTRAGED(A tribute to Nirbhaya,a rape victim)

So cold the forest felt, that she shivered
Bruised her feet was, but felt no pain.
Thorns and Thistles of lingering hope
bound firmly to her flesh, undeterred.
Screaming on the inside to be set free,
She was denied.....Liberty.
So long a path she had travelled,
So long a path remained...
Fires of hell burned inside her bosom,
Her breath dying with each step...
Her heart craving for blood.
She was denied.....Salvation.

The stars above her head, glimmering.
Whispering through ages, their lilting voicebarred
by the cage of trees,
Failed to soothe her ailing soul.
Grief and Pain tore her into thousands,
She was denied.....Dignity.
The world stares, from the darkness-
Blacker than night-
Tears of Sorrow flow, hoping
For a new life for her
She fights and fights and fights
Till the sun is eclipsed...
She is denied.....Life.
