Poem -

My Anathema

My Anathema

In the dark, he speaks to me
In subtle soft messages of love
I sense him all around me
And reach for his absent hand
With need to clasp it and never let go
The knowing is torture
A love so strong it hurts
The ache from a lifetime apart
Yet, we are together in persistent spirit
Unable to separate from truth,
Even if we tried
I stare at the sun, as if it has answers
Simply feeling its intensity
Stirring my yearning for him to its brink
He is a part of me, in all I believe
Desire’s desperate plea speaks implicitly
Of the dream screaming to be
And I shake, along with my heart that quakes
From this seductive, incessant ache
The beautiful revelation of true love
So close, I can virtually touch him
Almost able to gaze into his eyes
To see his heart in mine
Giving love its worthy fight
Yet, the cruel world unfairly judges
Translating the blessing to love deeply
As my anathema

Hi Marion...Thank you!  I think faith, hope, and love all go together and are the saving grace for this life.  I do not understand the system of this world, and so my beliefs are all I have despite not feeling the support from what I see of this reality. I have always felt judged for my romanticism of true love and God's will in it all ....but I still know the truth....  Bless you. xo Love n Hugs

My Dear Cherie,

Your beautiful love poem about how the world can intercede and try to destroy true love, reminds me of a few lines from the Bee Gees song "How Deep Is Your Love?".
"When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me"

The world can be cruel
They condemn the truest love
Not understanding

All my love,
Larry xxx

HI dear Larry....You said it well!  I love that song by the Bee Gees.  So true!  I think the world can be so cruel of its judgments and condemnations of what it does not understand.  I will always stand up for love!  I know it is suppose to be sacred and revered and in the foreground of life...so unlike what the world portrays.  I will always be sentimental over its affect and beauty. I love to write of what inspires me.  I would rather be misunderstood and judged than to live without love and its hope.    Love n Hugs, ;) xo

A Lonely Journey

Hello Cheerie,
Oh my gosh, what a gorgeous poem! And song!
Music can make us feel sooooo much, and the longing in that song is so incredible, but even more amazing is the gorgeous longing of your writing.
You have created such an intensely beautiful piece here that I could feel the remarkable emotion of your heart. Spectacular, young lady!! (new fave).
And though it's packed with incredible lines, one of them stood out to me so much, for some reason, and it was: 'To see his heart in mine'. That's awesome! Just awesome!
Cheerie, you seem to have such an incredibly 'feeling' heart, and I'm amazed at your ability to express it in your poetry, and I think this is one is one of your best, and one of the best poems I've ever read.
Beautiful!!

Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Hi Matthew!  I am so touched by your words...because you say it is one of the best poems you have ever read!  Oh wow!  I don't even know how to react to that comment.  I am so pleased you like it so well though.  Thank you.  The line you pointed out that stood out to you was one I chose to use to hopefully show a oneness felt and love desiring full consummation.  I am an emotional person and like to express what moves me.  The song  is so beautiful and speaks to me of love's desperation and strong emotions that desire to be allowed in full expression.  It helped inspire me. Thank you for always seeming to understand how I think with my heart when I write.  I am honored.  ;)  xo Love n Hugs,
Cheerie

You're welcome, Cheerie! You deserve praise for the nice, intelligent, kind person you are, and talented writer.
I really like how you think with your heart. I'm wondering if you have 2 brains, one in your heart, and one in your head. And, although it's not fair to us one brained people, I think it allows you to be intelligent, AND a beautiful romance writer. (Brain hog!). LOL. Kidding, we love all your brains.
L&H,
M.

Lol...I do most of my thinking with my heart...as my brain seems to be in a fog most of the time.  ;)  Thank you for your kind compliments.  I am glad we are friends and I have your support.  You are so intelligent and creative...so I value your opinions so much. xo ;)

Thanks Cheerie,
Your friendship is really important to me. I so enjoy nice, kind, intelligent people, and you are all three of those things, times three(which is 11, if I'm not mistaken), so on a scale of one to ten, you're a 16...I hope that makes sense(numbers confuse me, especially that 5 one), but it means you're awesome! I really mean that. Thanks!

Matthew.

Hey C!!......all the words above like Beautiful, gorgeous, longing, and etcetera are perfectly suited to describe what once again you have delivered so well in your most prolific genre......I have to smile because even though this is delivered in a poetic prose/freestyle fashion it still rhymes beautifully through and through!!...... Lovely poetry (as usual)....... it's extraordinary that you continue to be original/unique in these ~ your romantic endeavors in poetry's potential!!........ Well penned my Love!!....... Hugs-n-Kisses!!........T xo.  : )

Hey T....Thank you.  You got the feel of what I was going for in this write..the longing and revelation of true love.  I have such a hard time writing a poem that does not have rhyming and a guided format...and I tried to get away from that in this..but inevitably I still slip some in...lol  You know my writing style well...lol.  I want to stay original. I am glad you say I stay true to that.  Yay!  Thank you for your support....Love n Hugs, C
