My Journey Again

In the middle of nowhere

still not knowing where this road will end

I don't care how long I have to wait

because I know before I've got there I've found a friend.

It's only now when I don't recognise  the signs

I realise I've come a long way.

I've almost forgotten what the world has thrown at me

now that nobody is standing in my way.

No longer alone I'm still walking

smiling with my head held high.

When it gets lonely we just keep talking

headed for a cloudless sky.

When the weather gets tough

I know I'm not alone

because I've leant how to

go the way I was shown.

In the middle of nowhere

pause just for a look around

with my head out of the clouds I find myself

with my feet firmly on the ground.
