Poem -

My Sight Is Lost To You

My Sight Is Lost To You

This is dedicated to The Most Beautiful Girl in the World.

I gazed the sunlight shining down,
To light the flowers on the ground
Then realized the stemming there,
Were silken locks of auburn hair

And all the petals, soft as silk,
A brilliant sea of pinkish lilt,
Were but illusions finest grace,
Just perfect skin about her face

The moon, it cast a brilliant glow,
As only hearts of angels know
Yet all that lovely, warming light,
Shown as her smile within the night

I looked down on the golden trees,
Which feathered softly with the breeze
And all the pretty colors shown,
Expressed her heart's sweet undertone

There's so much beauty in the world,
That God has given to pursue,
But when I look upon it's grace,
It's image is of only you.

Oh my gosh!  Matthew you can write the most sentimental love poem..How gorgeous!  Every line is so romantic and feels like an old classic love poem from the Old World poets!  I am so enamored of love poems, and this one is a favorite!  You make the world a more beautiful place by showing the soft tenderness of your heart.  I love this!  I think cherubs must live in your brain and whisper words that you write down....Any woman would feel so beautiful and cherished to receive a poem like this.  lol...So lovely!  xo Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

OMG!
Thank you, Cheriub!
You are soooooo sweet! I wrote this in 5 minutes because I just felt I had to write something, so I'm a little skeptical of it, but thank you so much!! I think I must be learning from you!
Yes, I do have some cherubs residing there, but they are two months late on their rent! And messy! Oh my gosh! I found a pizza box in my ear the other day! Slobs. But they whisper well. You are too cute!
Thanks again! I can always count on you to make me feel like a poet.
You're the best!
Matthew.

Terry Kay,
How are you, my wonderful friend??
Thank you so much for the kind words, and sorry for the late response, but I don't get on too much on the weekends(I'm usually having my yaks cleaned, or something). lol.
You're awesome!

Hi Terry Kay!
LOL. No, I just have a loopy sense of humor, and a fondness for yaks(not in a weird way!! LOL). I just like their hair(it's kind of like mine), and the name 'yak', is just awesome! It's such a short, odd, name(like someone is v*miting), that I'm amazed they haven't petitioned for it to be changed...but they must like it.
Are you a fan of yaks?
Let me know.
Thanks!

Matthew.

Matthew,. How funny.  I like a sense of humor.  I can be a little off the wall goofy myself and I just occasionally try to watch that but just occasionally.  Yeah I like Yaks right up there with the American buffalo.  I am big time into animal rescue but slowing down.  I'm into donkey love now.  My donkey brayed right my face the other day and it was like standing in front of a frieght train blowing it's horn.  I would have thought it would make my hair stand on its ends.  Funny as ***t.
Lol! Terry Kay

Hi Terry,
I like that you're also crazy, and was thinking maybe we could exchange straightjackets sometime, just for a change in daily attire.
You have your own donkey??!! That's awesome! What's his/ her name? I think Mollvin Pestanitude is a great name for a donkey(if that's of any significance). Where did you get a donkey from? How cool.
I'm glad you like yaks(I don't think you can trust people who don't like yaks, do you?).
You are so cool!

Matthew,  People have always told me I'm crazy when I start joking.  I will do about anything for a laugh but I don't go to far in my opinion. 😊  My family was real cut ups.  It's hard to break a family tradition.
I rescued 2 donkeys about 3 years ago.  I lost one to old age a couple of months ago.  Yeah that's a great name for a donkey but mine is plain Ol ' Pete.  He was abused but becoming my lovey-dovey.  He can hear me with those ears as soon as my feet hit the floor in the morning.  It's amazing.  He has me wrapped around his hoof.  I gulp down my coffee, rain or shine to go feed him in the morning.  They are smart animals.  There are 4 other donkey owners on my street.  The people across the street enjoy him too.  He has a dog friend that he runs the fence with.  Bucking and playing up and down the fence.  He's my Arabian Donkey with a Quarter Horse head!  Best looking donkey on the block.
I'm on six acres with my mom.  I live in my Grandparents house, mom has her house and I'm working on building a rent house up by the street for extra money. I'm doing the work myself with a book from Mr. DeWalt and it has proven a bit more of a challenge than I expected.  My oldest son helped me with the siding.  I have been working on it for 2 years.  Slow and steady that's my new motto.  I have to sell some staghorn ferns cause I ran out of money. But I ran into an old friend that's a builder and he gave me cabinets, sink,  bathtub, windows, wood flooring, tile, etc.  I am dying to get back to work ing with all the materials. I sing that song from Momma Mia in there sometimes, you know it goes money, money, in a rich mans world!
Well I'm off to clean the kitchen.  Have a good one!
Love, Terry Kay

Hi Terry Kay,
Thank you so much for the nice comment response, I loved it! I like when we can make friends on here, and just say wacky stuff, and have fun. I think it's so cool. I'm so glad you're my new friend.
I can't believe you're restoring a house! That's awesome. I think that wonderful Cheerie is also doing that. You girls are amazing! I once put a Lego together, granted, it was only a 4 piece one, but it had very complex placements, and it stressed me greatly, so I'm amazed that you're building a house. You're a little loopy with that Momma Mia action, but I would love to see that going viral on a Facebook page. lol.
You're a lot of fun, Terry, I like that!
I can't believe you all have donkeys on your street! I love Ol Pete already. If you do get another one, think about the name Herman Mandibula III, OK? It's a prominent donkey name, in Brussels.
Terry, you're great, thank you.

Matthew.

Matthew,  Now that's a donkey name.  if I rename him, he has been baptized with water by mother nature, will you be Herman's God Father?  Cherie and I share notes on our house projects.  You are a funny man my friend.  I pinched a nerve in my back and paid a visit to the ER today.  I'll be back around in a few days. :)  I might get too crazy on pain meds.  Talk soon.  Terry

HI Terry,
It would be an honor to be Herman's Godfather, and since I'm Italian, I will 'make other donkeys an offer that they can't refuse' if they give him any problems!
I'm so sorry about your back! Sweet, wonderful people such as yourself, don't deserve pain. I'm lodging a formal complaint with fate! I'll miss you! Please get loopy on pain meds. I like silly people.
Matthew.

Thank you so much, my friend! It's good to see you. You were one of the first people to comment on my poems when I first came on here, and I've always like the rhyme scheme of your name.
I'm sorry I haven't been catching all of your writing, but I'm so busy, I'm always pressed for time, but I really appreciate the comment!

Thanks again,

Good! I think I'd go crazy if I wasn't insane, and I don't want YOU to go crazy(although that ship may have already sailed...KIDDING!!), because if we don't laugh, we'll just cry, I think, don't you?
You are truly a really nice person, and I'm glad you're my friend.

Have a great night!

Wow, Matthew!

Awesome rhyme scheme. It sounds like a song all the way through. You sure do have a natural rhyming voice, I'm so envious in people who can rhyme. This is a beautifully written poem, 5 stars all the way. Simply gorgeous.

I have an idea. How about you teach me how to rhyme. When I master iambic petameter, I can teach you.

*edited* as always. I say way too much!

Hi Katina,
Katina and the Waves has nothing to do with your wavy personality(don't get me wrong, it's a nice personality), but it just reminded me of Katrina and the Waves, who is a singing group, who sang Walking On Sunshine. Sorry.
OK, I will teach you rhyming in my own Dr. Suess-ish type of way, and you can teach me embryonic pedometers. Thanks! LOL.
Please know I would never make fun of you, or your energy, OK?

Thank you Katina!

Matthew.
