Poem -

One Last Try

The Final Dance of Love

One Last Try

I'm through with love, and sad goodbyes, can't take the lows, don't want those highs...-E. Carmen.

Life seems sad. I don't mean to question my maker, but sometimes it seems like this horrible experiment to see just how far one can be pushed past physical and mental barriers before they break. Maybe I did something egregious in life that I didn't realize, but I'm having trouble with this particular apex to which I've been guided. Sorry for the melancholy, but life seems sad.

Somewhere in my broken heart
Resides a dream that won't depart
And all my wishes to resist
Defy my reasons to exist

As every piece of solace falls,
I hear the mournful raven's calls
And as You float away from me
I realize You've set me free

I've wandered through this life alone
Perceiving none of what's been shown
And all the while, that veiled dream,
Just out of reach but always seen

I cannot live there anymore
Outside this pleasant ocean shore
As dreams wash gently with the tide,
And drown along their serous ride

There comes a time when faith extends,
Beyond the slant as one's back bends
And as you yearn to hear the Word,
You learn it's just your voice you've heard

I shall not try this this dance again,
It's gone beyond it's final end
But I will ride Your one last wave,
To save my heart or seal it's grave.

Hi Matt, Vernon Parrotlegg XIII here.
That stunk. But I did like the punctuation, especially the period bringing it to a merciful end. Did you ever think of writing something using only punctuation? It might be a vast improvement to your recent gobblydegook(and I mean that in a good way. Some people's gobblydegook is malignant).
Anyway, thanks for upsetting my stomach, I have a new antacid I wanted to try.
Sincerely,
The Legg XXIV.

Hey Buddy!
You are such a great guy. I can tell you're a true, loyal friend, because I'm not that good, but you're always there with a kind, encouraging word, and I really appreciate that.
You're never alone, you've always got us here, who care for you greatly.
Thanks,

Matthew.

Thanks Gregor!
You too. I mean what I say. Good people are sometimes hard to come by these days, and I like to show my appreciation to the ones I meet.
Have a great night, my friend!

M.

Hi Matthew.....I feel your pain....and I know how easy it is to only surrender to pain when there is nothing that can be done...It makes you wonder where  God fits into the scheme of such pain.  But I know He cares...He promises to always be with us through painful times, but does not say we will avoid it.  Even though this is so morose, and shows your sensitivity and broken spirit, it also exhibit that small trace of hope to hang on and give life one more try.  You will always be appreciated for your sweet personality and talents on Cosmo...and as my special friend.  I find beauty in sadness...a pulling emotional sanctity to it....that is hard to explain, and you definitely have that beautiful spirit of gentleness despite pain.  Lovely write, Matthew.  Love n Hugs, xo

Thank you Cheerie. You're too kind. I'm having trouble writing anymore(as you can plainly see. lol), but I always appreciate the faith and support, and friendship. I'm a veggie, and I think maybe I should curtail some of my writing efforts until I get my head straight...so that's probably my last poem! lol. Maybe I'll try to write something amusing. Life's too cruel to be taken seriously. But thank you so much, again, you have a wonderful heart, and it always shows on here.
Love,
Matthew.

Hi Greg,
Thank you so much! It's nice to see you. When I have time, I will check out some of your writing, it's just a crazy time of year for me.
I do have a uniquely awful style, but I just dabble in this to try to release some of the sadness of life.
I really appreciate the kind words!
Have a great day!
Matthew.

Matt why have you not been recognised as the best poet in the universe?
I hate you being sad because you have a heart of gold and are worth as much as a bar of gold for all your fans. I too question why i was put on this earth, but i know why you have.
