Poem -

One With The Horse

One With The Horse

I am one with the horse..........
As he pushes off sacred ground
Stirring up a storm of ancient dust
Where his ancestors once roamed
Gussied with thunderous sound
Muscles quiver, taut and strong
Flared nostrils snort, "Here, I belong!"
Defiance glares in his desert eyes
I feel the writhing spirit rising within him
Expressing freedom in magical motion
And my reverent devotion rides upon
His swift grace of invisible angelic wings
Heaven opens a bit wider today
Watching this rebellious stallion in play
Where wind matted mane and tail
Glisten and flow in sunset's glow
And I forget where I am or what I know
In that momentous experience
I am simply one with the horse

Hey Sweet T.....Thank you, I do believe writing my book is helping me write more freestyle prose and to concentrate on descriptions.  I am honored that you seem to see it helping.  I will ALWAYS love to write about horses!  Lol  They are a part of my own spirit in how I see beauty in this world through their spirit of freedom.  It means so much to me that you believe in me and support me.  I love you!  Kisses xoxxx Your C

One does not amass 432 followers anywhere for no reason, Cherie.
Only through perseverance, reciprocation, dedication and hard work is such an accomplishment achieved.
And by writing stellar poetry such as this, of course.
Exceptional, dear friend.

Hi Dean....Thank you. I am  constantly in competition with myself to improve my work and be the best writer I can possibly be....of course learning all the time and being inspired by others motivates me.  I am so honored that you believe in me.  I am working on a novel right now set in the Renaissance era and it is really keeping me busy and inspired to really work hard on my syntax and structure of words.  I am excited to get the opportunity to be in bookstores worldwide and promoted by a publisher that believes in me.  It has always been my dream to do books and be in book stores.....Now here in the middle of my life, I finally am ready.  I do appreciate your kind support.....means so much.  xo Love n Respect

If anyone can do it you can, Cherie.
I remember the first time a publisher from the UK, Samie Sands, contacted me and asked if she could publish a story I'd written titled: 'French Friend Freida: A Campfire Tale' in her Halloween Anthology, Tales of Horror on Halloween Night:

https://www.amazon.com/Tales-Horror-Halloween-Night-Samie/dp/1517625432/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521735517&sr=8-1&keywords=Tales+of+Horror+on+Halloween+Night

When it was made available for purchase on Amazon.com and I saw my name in print, I was as excited as a child at Christmas, heh-heh.
Believe it or not I still get that same adrenaline rush each and every time it happens.

I wish you nothing but success in all your future endeavors.

Hi Dean.  Thank you so much for your well wishes.  I am not surprised at all that you have work published....because your poetry stands out with professionalism at its heart.  I have an agent and a publisher that seem to believe in me. That makes me feel more confident...Later this year I will be doing book signings in Barnes and Noble stores and my publisher is lining up interviews and radio promotion....maybe even television if all goes well.  I am more excited about the current book I am working on than the one being out later this year because it is a children's book and I am more interested in adult themed books now and a much better writer than I was when I wrote the children's book.  But I wrote that one for my children....and they wanted it out in stores....so I feel if Barnes & Noble liked that one and wanted it, then they will really like the one I am working on now that is more representational of my style and abilities.  I will have to look you up on amazon.com.  Congratulations on all your recognition for your work...It is excited to be accepted and approached by publishers.  It is a very fickle industry to be picked up by reputable publishers that believe in you.  It means much to me that there are people on Cosmo that believe in me..It has definitely encouraged me to pursue my dream of being a published author and a career in writing... xo Cherie

My Dear Cherie,

They once galloped through milleniums
These creatures ran bridle free
Then mankind sought to train them
Their legs for his destiny

.
They robbed them of their freedom
Corralled their wild dreams
The Horse became his servent
Few left to freely teem

Love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry.  I support "Return to Freedom," which is an organization that helps keep horses wild in their natural environment, by providing huge tracts of acreage in places like Colorado and Nevada, and not let the government destroy them.  It is a beautiful sight to see them free and forming bonds within the herd, with order and rank, a leader, and brood mare....a real family.  I love your responsive verses.  Thank you, my friend.  Love n Hugs, Cherie xo

Hi Dear Cherie,

That is so beautiful that you support "Return To Freedom".  Linda and I are going to look into this organization.
I was thinking about you yesterday after a song came on the Easy Listening channel that Linda and I play during the day.  It is called "Bless The Beasts and The Children", and is the beautiful theme song from an old movie of the same name.  I highly recommend that you pull it up on YouTube, for it is all about a group of people that fight for the lives of a herd of horses that are slated to be destroyed.

Love,
Linda and Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry.  I definitely will look up the song and video on YouTube...Sounds like something I would be very interested in.  I get bi-weekly updates from "Return To Freedom" about cases that my money goes to help the horses....I get so excited and emotional when a horse is released back into the wild to be with his herd...or another brood mare is nursed back to health after being hurt and separated from her family in a raid.....We need to protect our wildlife and nature....not allow humanity to recklessly destroy lands and not care about God's creatures from their actions.  I appreciate you telling me about the song and movie....I am not sure if it is one I have seen before but will look it up.  xox Love n Hugs
