Poem -

Passion's Last Tableau

Passion's Last Tableau

It does not need to be
such a dramatic scene
when you and I
Silently drift off to sea
Forget the troublesome past
With restrictive chains
Sense the soft calling wind
Of smooth seafaring gains

Hold me close in the boat
Where time floats away
Listen to my heartbeat
Its racy cabaret
Midnight's moonlight
Shall not expose our secret
My kiss is a promise
And love must keep it

Hear the sweet spirit of voyage
Singing its stand
Sailing us away
With no sight of past lands
No effort given
To row us back to shore
We will not be returning
To that world anymore

Melded in this moment
Where love is our guide
The sea provides serenity
For sensual glide
Care not where we end up
Just stay entranced, as so
On a beautiful journey
Passion's last tableau

Thank you!  I am posting romantic writes that I have been gathering for my book. I want love poems that either tell a narrative story or focus on an emotional response...In this one I hope I accomplished both telling a story of lovers running away together to escape the world's views and criticism, and the passion play between them as they make their last passionate play to create a dramatic scene.  I appreciate your kind support.  Love n Hugs, xo

Thank you, again!   That means so much!  My publisher expects me to have this ready by next week, so I am getting the last poems put in and reworking a few to be ready to give to them.  It is exciting to finally put my love poems in a collection.  I have wanted to do it for some time.  I am glad you like my work. ;) xo

Thank you, T!  I really do think a lot about word choices in an attempt to make my love poems original to me and the emotions that I want to convey...like in this one, the idea of lovers escaping the world together and wanting to make it their last dramatic scene before living in peace and love...just the imagination of what I had in mind for them.  I am happy you found it creative and poetic in expressions....Yay.  Thank you for all your kind support as a great writer.  I value your input.  Love n Hugs, xo

Hi Greg....Thank you!  I just read your poem and I loved it and pinned it because I am very sentimental over love too, as you know...lol.  Love is always inspiring...I wanted to create a feeling of lovers escaping life to just be together and focus on positive energy of passion and love away from criticizing eyes and censuring over what is beautiful and reverent.  Thank you for your kind support.  xo ;)  Love n Hugs

My Dear Cherie,

Oft times a famous artist
Paints a canvas that's set aside
He feels it lacks the passion
Later to be retried

.
Then one day, he picks it up again
And creates a masterpiece
A tableau of love's perfection
His work of art released

All my Love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry....I like that analysis of waiting for the right moment where all the passion comes through for a dramatic scene to come alive in art.  It can be that way in relationships too...lol  Great verses.  Love n Hugs, xo

Why can't we exist forever in that moment of true harmony and love forever?? No real life to get in the way...no past...no future...just now...just bliss. That's what this poem says to me....great write...hugs 💕

Hi Marion...That is what it means to me too!  I wish we could just be lost in that moment where all is perfectly beautiful and peaceful, and all love all the time!  That would be my ideal.  I like to create scenes that give me a sense of that peace, in a very unpredictable world...sigh.  Thank you. xo ;)
