Poem -

Sea of Life

Sea of Life

In the dead of a summers night
The tides of the ocean decide to take my heart for a borrow
As I try to reach the surface with all of my might
The sea slowly starts to sink away all of my sorrows
The moon is glowing like a night light of the sun
And I try to grasp for a hand
The water tries to take me away like a gun
And I long to feel the texture of the land
For my eyes are starting to fade
And it is beginning to feel cold
The ocean, for life, I finally trade
I can no longer pretend to be bold
As this current is pulling me under
I finally let go of all of the guilt
My heart stops pounding like thunder
And washed away is all the pain that was built
Goodbye to life
It has sunken away
There is no longer fright
Goodbye to the next day
