Greetings Hafsah,
Whether it’s believed or not, silence do talk louder than words in some cases but in situations such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression, a person tends to speak out through the defiant actions they began to inflict and allow, metamorphosis to their bodies, i.e. cutting and cigarette butt burning of the skin. The majority feels as though this is the only thing in life, which they do still have control of and the only person that can prevent them from this destructive act is under no one’s control except theirs, ultimately deriving pleasure from the pain and the fact that they see their own blood. Although this is their reason for cutting believing that, sight sometimes speaks louder than sound or that they have been verbal for much too long, so now they will show us through their actions, seeing is the ultimate belief in their eyes. A very sad situation and no one should ever go unheard by anyone. Just because you can't hear them, doesn’t mean they are not crying out loud for help, on the inside. Just as Shah stated, your words are heard hear and they will never fall on deaf ear.
Take Care,
Jim
