A slaves freedom (part 2)

On this bus I heard they were boycotting in Birmingham
Damn
One week I was told I couldn’t eat there
I was told it was a “Whites Only” chair
I walked hand in hand with this man named Martin
We marching
They use fire hoses on us daily
I’m screaming “please God don’t fail me”
They followed me one night when I was alone
Ended up burning a cross in front of my home
They said I cant go to school with them
That Id get killed if I ever made friends with them
Gave up my seat on the bus cause I had too
We went from slaves segregation …this racisms continuesÂ
These Klan men went crazy…
They was out there killing black babies
I tried to talk to God but its taking him years to listen
They burn our churches down…please God pay attention
They killed Martin last week
I’m quiet…I can’t speak
I swear the future looks dim
Like a dream cut short…foiled by sin
I live now hopelessly hoping…my body feels numb
Knowing a slaves freedom has yet to be won
I bow my head now in silence
Please stop this hate….stop this violenceÂ
I open my eyes to an “Excuse Me”
To be continued….while I give up my seat!
