Poem -

Society Anxiety

Society Anxiety

Heart beats start racing
Sweat starts to pour.
Medication they've given me
I must take some more.
The thoughts they keep hounding me
Beating my head.
Up and down I keep pacing
I can't lay in bed.
They don't understand me
I've tried but I've failed.
Don't want to burn bridges
But that ship has sailed.
It's not easy fitting in
as it's difficult for them to see,
I never asked to be part
Of the machine they call society.
Maybe some day
My mind will be free,
Will not be controlled
By anxiety.
