Poem -

Sunset glory; a commision.

Sunset glory; a commision.

The day ends burnished golden.
Clouds lined with gleaming fire.
The days story emboldened,
by sunset,
a warriors funeral pyre.
Then rest and change.
Wrapped in the velvet cloak of night.
Dreams beholden.
Before rebirth,
of hope,
of light.
Dawns more gentle fire.
Illuminating us.

We are, in essence, the sunsets glory.
We are the hope of dawns new light.

When I went to my local shop this morning the wonderful Mrs. Patel insisted on blue-toothing a photo to me. As I'm known as the local poet she asked me to write a piece to go with the pic (not the pic above which is a stock image I already had) in return for a donation to charity. Thanks to writing this at lunchtime Marie Currie cancer care get some money and I get a MAHOOOSIVE ego boost.

Thank you again Charu, my friend,
I was so pleased to be asked to write something for a relative stranger and it gave me a chance to continue from "Morning Hope" which was still in my mind.
Thanks again,
Nigel
