The Bird's Nest

The Bird's Nest

I saw the straw
And mud delight
Upon the bar
In broad daylight,

A sheltered place
For mama bird
We party here
The music heard,

Tore down the nest
At least three times
Kept coming back
With bits of pines,

I gave it up
And let her be
She built her nest
In our roof it be,

Above the fridge
Where the drinks are cold
The music's loud
And her nest is gold,

Her babies peek
At the top of the nest
We love the sight
This place was best

And soon those babies
Any day
Will folow their mother
And fly away....
