Poem -

The Garden Gate of Dreams

The Garden Gate of Dreams

A rosy glow on cheeks, blushed by reflection
Her soft privy thoughts cause sanguine complexion
Every posy rose in the garden knows why
The deep colors of his love, tend to make her cry

She has missed his lingering kiss of late
Waking to chagrined change from twist of fate
Nature bows, giving her reverent passage
An aroma of wooing words’ sweet adage

She walks down lush, laden aisles of orchid grace
Each perfumed petal waves hope in interlace
Keeping her captive in their merry musing
A delightful landscape of vibrant fusing

Down each row, she starts to show faith’s favor
Lost in frosted thoughts of love’s sweet savor
She imagines him crossing the floral field
As if he feels her heart’s radiant appeal

It’s true! In full flowering view, he’ll find her
To embrace her fantasies with kind reminder
He lingers by the garden gate of dreams
To hold her as his own, for love to redeem

Wow, Cherie! This is a beautiful love story of growth and change, just like the seasons as they change from year to year, there are many changes. The flowers grow, they bloom, they inspire, and you have grown as well. Great work. I’m a fan.

I like the second like the best. "Frosted thoughts of love's sweet savor," simply beautiful and eloquent.

Hi Katina...Thank you for your valued thoughts on my work.  I love the view of lots of flowers...the aroma and setting of vibrant colors to portray a woman reflecting on love, and blushing in her private thoughts to blend in with the flowers around her.  I was trying to get a good flow going in this one to hopefully feel like a classic old love poem.  I always appreciate comments and insight from readers.  Bless you. xo ;)

I love how you have interwoven the subjects feelings and flowers together. I could almost see her walking and dreaming with a touch of sadness and also hope. This may be my favourite...pinned 💕

Hi Marion...I am so excited after reading your comments.  I have been working hard to put together a collection of my poetry to be published his year by  my publisher, and this is one I definitely considered to be put in it...and by you letting me know this may be  one of your favorites validates that for me...Thank you so much!  Yay!  Your summation of my poem is exactly what I was hoping readers would feel and see in it.  Bless you for the pin!  xo Love n Hugs, ;)

Hi Greg.  I understand Greg...I get disheartened by what I see in the world and how people are not focused on showing love and actions of it.  God is patient, but has a designated time He will interject and finally set up His eternal kingdom and there will be no more remembrance of this kind of world run by human politics...and LOVE will be the focus it is meant to be because it will come from the Creator who is Love.  Thanks Greg.  xo

Hello Jill.  Thank you!  I love the idea of a flower garden, and it is a great setting for thoughts of love and to allow emotions just to flow...as they came to me in this write of that feeling....Thank you for your kind support. xo ;)  Love n Hugs

Cheerie,
Flowers are so envious of your beautifulness! (I spoke to them, and this was their biggest complaint).
That was incredible. Truly one of your best(and that's saying A LOT!).
Gorgeously worded, emotional piece. If I had a heart of stone(which I wish I did), this would melt it. So beautiful...and the poem, too.
Love and hugs,
Matthew.

And, my favorite lines were these:

'A rosy glow on cheeks, blushed by reflection
Her soft privy thoughts cause sanguine complexion
Every posy rose in the garden knows why
The deep colors of his love, tend to make her cry'

So emotional, and beautiful.
And I adore the last stanza, and it's loves realization.
Wonderful Cheerie. M.

Hi Matthew....Thank you for your very elaborate reviews of my poetry.  It means a lot to me that you really liked this one because I want to publish it in a book this year.  You seem to really appreciate my themes and style, and that means so much.  I saw the imagery in my mind of a flower garden and a woman reminiscing of love....I wanted a soft scene.  You seem to like   sentimental themes as I do..Thank you, my friend for your ever present support.  Love n Hugs, xo ;)

Hi Cheerie,
You're so welcome. You really are 'The Nicest Person In the World', and we're having a sash created for you to wear extolling that.
I do like sentimental themes(don't tell everyone that!). Unfortunately, things never seem to work out for me, but I like romance, and sweetness, and warmth, and hate confrontation and stuff, but life, in it's infinite oppositional forces seems to like to provide me with complete oppositeness. Sigh. Some day.
You're wonderful!!
L&H,
M.

If I was awarded a sash, it would say, "Most clumsy mom" or "Most likely to fall over her own feet"....lol.  I am glad you like my poems and understand me.  I am always your friend and here to talk to and wish you much happiness...(without confrontations anymore!) and a peaceful life that you deserve.  You are a blessing on Cosmo and I adore you as my friend.  Much Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;_)

Thank you, Cheerie!!
OK, we'll comprise. How about a sash that says: 'Nicest Person In the World Who Often Takes Wacky Spills Into Her Ferns, But Always Gets Up and Brushes Herself Off Because She's Amazing and Has Simply Put Her Shoes On Backward.' Deal? Good.
You friendship means the world to me.
Love and hugs,

Matthew.

My Dear Cherie,

In dreams, I'm at the Garden Gate
Awaiting my true love
I know he has been sent to me
From the Heavens up above

I awake to the reality
That my dreams have all come true
For he meets me at The Garden Gate
And tells me "I love you"

All my love.
Larry xxx
