Poem -

The One In Lonely

As Life Withholds One's Dreams ...

The One In Lonely

Nights and life are both long...when they don't include dreams. - MZ.

I am one with darkest night
I live, I breathe, but hold no light
I long to hold a shining star,
But sense her wonder from afar

I am one with Father Time,
I scurry past as if in crime
And yet I stop for no one there,
As no one really seems to care

I am but a part of You
You hurt Yourself, I wish I knew,
Why it is You put me here
To promulgate your lonely tear

I am one with humankind
Tho' as I live I seem to find,
The more I meet and things I've known,
The more I feel I'm all alone

I am words in love's sweet song,
To which the angels sing along
But as I part my lips to croon,
The only sound is but the tune

I am but a man on stage,
Who knew his role, yet lost the page
And as the curtain rose that day,
The actress found another play

I am one with Mother Earth
I long for memories 'fore my birth
Where sadness never makes a sound,
Within the cold, forgiving ground.

Marionette,
Sorry I haven't been around, I've been eaten up by accountants(who think I really actually care about numbers) and spit out onto a ledger pad in the shape of an obtuse angel. I've missed you, though, and to get such a compliment from you(one of the best writers I've read) is fantastic. Thank you very much!! I write sad so much better than love, as most of life is filled with the former, rather than the latter, for some reason.
Thank you so much!
Hugs returned...where's my 5 cent deposit?),
Matthew.

Gregor, my friend! (I knew I'd see you 3 beautiful people on here for me! You, Marionette, and Cheerie, and Jilligan, she'll be here). Thank you so much. Sorry I haven't been around. I've been lost in a world of numbers, and they do not like me, and have been poking me with a 1 to make me bleed. I miss you, Buddy, and will have to get caught up soon. Thanks again!
Matthew.

Dear Matthew,
This is so beautiful even in its very sad theme and expression of such deep loneliness and pain.  You are perfect with your delivery in rhyme and flow as well as  the integrity of theme...so deeply moving.  I love these creative lines:

" I am one with Father Time,
I scurry past as if in crime "

You write in such a spiritual whole as if sadness is at the fundamental roots of existence...as if God Himself uses you to exhibit that attribute that is a part of Himself in it....That is deep!  You use many examples of such lonely situations with great impact in imagery....I see the poor guy on stage knowing his role, but left alone with play in hand and no one else playing the roles with him...sniffles.  So well thought out.

You are an emotional writer, like me....in that we speak from a place of understanding the emotions we write about and can relate it in poetry to take on a life of its own...This is excellent poetry.  You are worthy of such respect for your contributions to this site....I am in awe!  Love n Hugs, xo Cheerie 😃😁👍❤

Cheerie!!
Oh my God, I love you...I mean, I love that review!! Thank you!! You are sooooo smart, and articulate, and sooooo nice! It's a beautiful combination of a person. As you know, I don't get life and it's incessant cruelty, and selfishness towards those who don't truly deserve it, but I know you understand.
Comment reply interruption: Hey! I just noticed those emojis on there! How did you get them on there?? I can never put emojis on here! (sad face emoji, followed by an emoji of a dolt trying to use a computer). I'm so jealous! End of comment interruption.
How could anyone be more perfect then you? Thank you for always understanding my gooblydegook, and for always being so nice. You restore my faith in the personnel of life. You're beautiful!
Love and hugs,
Matthew.

Hey JIlligan! I knew you'd be here, thank you! I was telling Gerg, above, that I know exactly who is going to comment on my ramblings, my 4 beautiful, wonderful friends, and you've all made me the Happiest Poet(ha!) in the World.
Sorry I haven't been on much, but I've had some of my legs and arms  removed and transferred to the other side(like a wheel rotation on a car), so they don't wear funnily. I've also been buried in quicksand, thrown into a volcano, eaten by red ants, and maligned by a duck, so pretty normal, but busy. I miss you my wonderful friend!
Matthew.

Being of Wondrous You!
Thank you so much!! Wow, you and Cheerie, and my other 2 fans made my day! I don't get many comments, but THAT was sooooo nice to hear. Thank you so much! I don't think I've ever had such an emphatic review before.
Thank you, thank you, thiank(why do I type thiank you so much??!! I type it a lot! And the 'i' isn't even near the 'a'!! Does that happen to you? Please let me know, or if I'm just nuts! Thank you).
I really appreciate it!

You are not nuts! Blame the autospelling thingy (I do). The autospelling thingy is actually run by a little gremlin (he said he was a spelling wizard so that he got the job) and this gremlin likes to mix things up a little sometimes just for the fun of it! (Bet you didn't know that!) x

LOL!! Actaually(wow), since I got a discount keyboard, I don't have a gremlin, instead I've got a guy named Barney Muskranger, and he told them he couldn't spell, and still got the job! Man, it's annoying. Being of Thineself, I like your sense of humor.

I shall do just that, Gregorian! Thank you for letting me know. I wish this site had a little section where you can see what your friends, or the people you follow, posted recently, so you don't miss them. And they drop off so quickly! If you write something good(which I don't have to worry about), and 5 other people post a poem, it drops off into oblivion, and dies a sad death. lol.
OK, I will read your poem Greg, I'm sure it's gregeat!(that's a combination of Greg and great). Over. M.
