Poem -

The Softest Illusion

The Softest Illusion

What beautiful thoughts, in welcomed intrusion
Blanketing down, with the softest illusion
He reigns here, with love’s sincerest intentions
Daringly brave, to face my apprehensions

In a swirling pool of serendipity
He approaches me with sensitivity
With offered hand to take a forgetting dance
Where the past won’t matter, if I take this chance

How I wish to believe what his eyes comprise
The gentlest light without signs of demise
And his words flow as honey, so slow and sweet
Promising a world without lies or deceit

Before I notice, my persuaded feet sway
In adroit dance steps of convincing array
Drawn by his tender touch of absolution
Reveries send me the softest illusion

Hello Nigel!  Thank you so much.  I had the title for this one in my head and wrote the verses around the inspiration of the title....thinking of when love feels so beautiful, one hopes it is real and not an illusion.  I am so honored that you pinned this one...Bless you. xo ;)

Oh Cherie, this is beautiful!

Favorite lines

In a swirling pool of serendipity
He approaches me with sensitivity

It reads like a romantic love letter, written by a wife in hopes
of her husband reading. You captured the love in your poem.

It sounds like you are madly in love and through poetry you are able to express these deep - rooted feelings of love, of appreciation and joy for being in love. I hope I read it correctly. Nice work, Cherie.

Hi Katina...I am so happy that you could feel the love in this one.  I am a huge fan of romantic poetry, and I always write from a place that my emotions relate to.  There can be so much uncertainty and ugly things in this world...so I like to focus on the beauty and hope in things like love offers...Thank you for your nice comments and support.  xo ;)

A Lonely Journey

Cheerie,
OMG. I think that's the most beautiful thing I've ever read. You've outdone yourself...again. lol.
That is love. So tender and wistful, and pretty.
The first 2 lines removed my heart from my chest, and placed it onto a blanket of sunshine. So beautifully penned.
And this stanza:

'How I wish to believe what his eyes comprise
The gentlest light without signs of demise
And his words flow as honey, so slow and sweet
Promising a world without lies or deceit'

is just the most beautiful dedication.
Fantastic. There's a thin line between angelic and you, and I believe you've just crossed that. Amazing.

Love and hugs,

Matthew.

Hi Matthew,
I portrayed love the way I think it should feel and look....with security and validation that the simplicity of a touch or look can give....away from fears and perimeters the the world can present.  You are so sweet with your comments, M...I am no angel, (unless a broken one who is lost), but  I appreciate your faith and belief in me.  I always love to see what lines you pick that you like...Thank you for doing that....It is very validating to let me know what I am doing right to readers to make it connect with them.  Bless you.  Love n Hugs,  Cheerie ;)

Cheerie,
Thank YOU, for making love seem real again with your beautiful poetry. Sometimes, life beats the belief of love right out of people, but I'm so glad you always hold it so dearly in your heart. I'm the same way(although many times I've tried to ignore it and hope those feelings go away, but I guess they never do for some people).
Wonderful writing!
Love,
Matthew.

Awww...Well, I don't want to live in a world without hope of love...It is a shame that the world does not embrace it as sentimentally as it should be treated.  I will always refuse to change my views of it in a very tender romantic bond worthy to pursue and nurture.  I would not ever wish for you to change, Matthew...You are a dear soul.  xo ;)

My Dear Cherie,

Illusions are employed by magicians, to trick the viewer's eye
Their secrets never revealed, arcane, with them they'll die
But one's Soulmate arrives sans trickery, with illusions very pure
Thus starts a passioned love affair, that forever will endure

All my love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry....very true!  I think when love is real and powerful you hope and pray it is not an illusion...but something to hold onto and trust.  Thank you for your always perceptive verses.  Love n Hugs ;)
