Poem -

Lost In Forever's Dance

Lost In Forever's Dance

We danced until we could no longer survive...then we danced one more.ย

Dancing slow. It's a beautiful thing. And when you have the right music, and the perfect girl, it's something beyond imagination. I have a friend I imagine this with, and it's a heavenly dream.ย

We walked along the garden aisleย
As starlight flashed a golden smileย
And as our future gathered there,ย
A swirling wind blew back her hairย

Our cradled words exchanged with care,ย
Love's frozen eyes, no looks to spareย
But as our dreams of heart did play,ย
Our gorgeous thoughts of love did swayย

A glint of gold on ivory placed,ย
From perfect blue, a teardrop tracedย
And as she spoke those words, I knew,ย
That time's full sweep could not undoย

So we gathered one as allย
Within the white, transcendent hallย
And love they gifted to us there,ย
Despite one flitting piece of fareย

But then, as soft as feathered downย
One gracious note came floating downย ย
I gazed across the crowded floor,ย
And found the moment we longed forย

Not vows, nor gifts, or friends in towย
But holding close and drifting slowย
And as I reached the love I'd swore,ย
I took her hand past Heaven's doorย

Our bodies joined in perfect time,ย
In verses which our hearts did rhymeย
To tunes that stole our dreams away,ย
Before this long aspired dayย

That moment I had met the sun,ย
The warmth of her, forever spunย
All senses caught amidst her trance,ย
No outside world within our danceย

The DJ let the music play,ย
As morning called the night awayย
The guests, they drifted, off in time,ย
The church bells moaned a final chimeย
But you and I, restrained in love,ย
Knew nothing but the peace above,ย
And tho' they spoke it but folklore,ย
We danced in love forevermore.ย

Oh, thank you so much, Red!ย
It's terrible, I rushed the last 3 or 4 stanzas between spreadsheets so I could post something so people know I'm still alive, and I'm so not happy, but thank you for being so nice! You're awesome.ย

Hi Matt, Parrotlegg here again.ย
Listen, I think you should stick to writing about yaks. Your hair looks like theirs, and you know a heck of a lot more about them then slow dancing. Remember that poem you wrote about you dancing with a yak, and she stepped on your foot, and you fell into a vat of cleaning fluid? I liked that one. Anytime your poetry involves you incurring bodily damage, people seem to enjoy it for some reason.ย
Please, please stop writing romance, and stick to things you know, like:ย
-groin pulls.
-Ganglions.ย
-Obtrusive Nasal Injuries.ย
-Conically Shaped Things.ย
-Felt.ย
-Hocking Up Stuff.ย
-Flea and Tick Infestations.ย
And,ย
Poop.ย

This is just not good.ย
But, good job(phtttttt!!!).ย
Sincerely,ย
Parrtolegg.ย

Hi dear Matthew,

What a very lovely dream. I miss slow dancing and the intimacy that is felt when swaying to music. You captured that magical feeling here. It would be nice to forever dance this way, with the world held off at bay. You have a gift for the romantic genre of poetry. The perfect song can just lead the dance with emotions and feelings that come through it.ย  This is so lovely, and has the charm of a couple on their wedding day, lost in that world that they never want to end...that is what I think of.ย  Beautiful!ย  xo Love n Hugs, Cheerie ;)

Cheerie,ย
You also always nail my intent, thank you! (Parrotlegg thought it was about a guy having a seizure).ย
Oh my gosh! Slow dancing! You're so right, when the song is bleeding beautiful tones to your mind, and the warmth of the one you love so dearly, and the peripherals, a beautiful scent, gorgeous eyes, etc., it can just carry you beyond things we actually know in this world. We think a lot alike.ย
Thank you for taking the time to comment, and for so beautifully responding. You're amazing.ย
Love and hugs,ย
Matthew.ย

Hi Pratibha,ย
You're so sweet, thank you! My like to pin ratio is soaring on this one! lol. Except for that darn Parrotlegg, who reviewed it as: 'A horrendous flim-flammery of shim-shammery and calamity', I'm doing OK. LOL. Thank you so much for your kind comment, you're great!ย

Being Me

Oh Matthew!ย  You romantic you!ย  This is a beautiful, beautiful poem. A moment that could last forever. Parrotlegg just doesn't get it does he?ย  (Shakes head in disbelief). Poor Parrotlegg.ย

This poem is like a piece of music, a truly romantic piece that accompanies that slow dance of quiet longing.ย  This is right up there in the hallowed halls of romance where only the very best romantic poems are bound in volumes of love.ย ย

You can't just read this poem, you waltz through it... In a really, really good way.ย

I love this!ย  Pinned! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ x
