Poem -

Touch

Touch

         It felt botanical
        just laying here
           beside you,

      peering anticipation
            bloom within
      the trembling tones
           of your scarlet
                  smiles..

           I had to carefully
         wait for the moment
       when you would close
                 your eyes..

             My only intention
         came without practice,
                the art of how
         to feather my fingers
            prior to soothingly
                   brush your
                       cheeks..

          The ranunculus softness
                      of your skin
                         woke me....

                      I knew then,
                 that I shall never
              be able to fall asleep
                             again…

Sigh..What can I say to this?  So soft and romantic....I adore the metaphorical usage of floral references...Makes for a very sensual feel....and it has a feel of reverence...simply beautiful...You are so good, Merrill....and should have an ego..lol   Love n Hugs

Reminded me of Rumi this...and so I leave you with his lines to say beautiful write.  Travellers in the same same journey...

"There is some kiss we want
with our whole lives,
the touch of Spirit on the body.
Seawater begs the pearl
to break its shell.
And the lily, how passionately
it needs some wild Darling!" Rumi

My Dear Friend Merrill,

It is amazing to me, that I found someone who has also ingested the beautiful music by Michael Hoppe. I guess birds of a feather, stick together, because from the moment I met you, I knew our souls had a connection.  I now respond to your beautiful poem, with one of my own.

In sleep I gently touch you, but the softness of your skin;
Makes my eyelids slowly flutter, my awakening begins!
I try returning to my slumber, but my mind is too aware;
For even if it's only dreaming, I am so happy when you're there!

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
