TWINS

Sun, thou may never rise
Moon, thou never may show thy face
But I will find thee
O, sisterin
cold, in darkness.
I will search for thee forever
may my body know no rest
for I shall find thee
even in Death.
I have loved myself
more than anybody else.
I have groomed myself
like I was queen
I have satisfied myself
with no care for others,
for I knew nobody else but me.
O but, then I knew not
a baby was born from
my mother’s womb‐
Thou sister‐--

who was the same as me,
I knew not that in my mother’s eyes,
both of us were equal
both of us of the same countenance
both of us of the same colour
both of us tied in
unbreakable bonds
both of us‐‐‐Twins.
But then I discovered thouthy
image in me
Thy image which was
no different when viewed in mirror
Thou were my sister‐Thou
were my friend‐Thou were
CONSCIENCE.
