Two Phantoms (Walking Nightmares)

My brother and I; two Phantoms burned by the intensity of my mothers misguided passion for success.

Two nightmares walking amongst halls of knowledge; never learning...only fearing...only hating.

Despising those who had the privilege of a loving mother and a present father. Wishing death upon the idle masses.

But soon the alliance of the Phantoms was broken. Favor curried with the warden birthed favoritism and the eldest was left truly alone in this world.

Caught between betrayal that had never been felt. Smashed upon rocks of emotion and doubt by the tempest of hateful gusts of the winds called Life.

This was the life of the eldest Phantom.

Two Phantoms drifting amongst the living and ignorant plebeians. Two Phantoms facing the world.

The youngest blessed with strength and heart, the eldest blessed with cracked psyche and split ego. But still allied, even with such great differences.

But time changes everything. The youngest leaves to a better place and abandons the eldest.

A place of milk and honey beside the throne of the Striker. You changed, my brother.

The eldest Phantom doesn't contemplate the inner boil of emotions that the young one is feeling. Self-hatred. Doubt of privilege. Guilt...sharper than any poison-coated blade wielded with apathy.

The young Phantom falls to the bottle of stolen liquor to smother his emotions.

This was the life of the youngest Phantom
