Undefeated

Undefeated

You saw me laying, in the mud on the ground,
A broken man lost, is what you had found,
The strips of my flesh gouged out, made me bad,
The strips were my happiness, that I once had.

You repeatedly kicked me, until I went numb,
You raped me of money, until I had none,
I lay there still silent, alone in my pain,
All of the memories, quickly washed down the drain.

I stand up with effort, and face life head on,
These trampled defeated times, will not last here long,
I've decided to be better, and cut off the dead wood,
And be a fearless father, as I know that I could.

Today I rose above ashes, and I do as I please,
I've never been one to beg, never grovelled on my knees,
To those who don't like it, I say the problem is you,
Don't come around here at all, and tell me what to do.
