Poem -

Unpacking Boxes

Unpacking Boxes

Boxes upon boxes to unpack
Moving can be rough
An overcrowded house
How did we acquire so much stuff?
Yet, I see the potential, the dreams
The coordinated color schemes
This place will become our home
The palette for our creativity to impart
A safe place to relax,
To make memories from the heart
One box at a time, unpacking a life
Rearranged in a new position
Our first home as man and wife
Somehow, I realize the potential
For great changes to help us grow
Though sorting through these boxes
In this moment, seems so slow
Everything will find its proper place
As tedious and consuming as it may be
Unpacking boxes upon boxes
Will surely end, eventually

HI Mitsali.  Thank you.  We just moved this week.  It took the movers three days to pack up and move our furniture, and we packed all our other stuff ourselves in boxes.  I have felt so overwhelmed with this move and it came out in my poem...I am excited to buy a home and to create a new life with Tony here....but I hope to never move again any time soon!  It's a lot of work...Lol  Thank you for your kind wishes.  xo xo

HI Greg.  Thank you!  Great advice.  I did get rid of many things before we moved to try to condense it down.  You really do not know how much stuff you have until you have to box it all up and move.  It was worth the stress and expense...but we will be working on our house for quite a while to fix it up to our taste and personality.  I am tired daily, but seeing my efforts paying off in turning this house into a home..one we can be proud of.  Love n Hugs, xo

Hello Sis Cherie...

I've always moved distance wise so it was always all at once...

I have so many options right now between building a House which I have a choice of two locations on my Land...

I already have a plan when the first room is complete I will move stuff as I go...

That will leave me the last room and I'm done...

But, I'm postponing it because, I have been researching another Country in case this one goes to Hell fast...

They have strict rules and regulations to become a Citizen but, I would start the process on my first trip...

If they approve me, I will become a Citizen there...

It wouldn't take long to fly direct to visit my family...

I'm sure you will be able to relax soon...

You have Great Teamwork I'm sure...

😊

Congratulations again!

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Hey sis Sparrowsong...I wish I could just do one room at a time and move stuff one room at a time...That would be less stressful for sure!  I like your thinking!  The upstairs of our house looks livable now...but our basement is still filled with boxes and lots of work to do down there.  Tony is putting in a nice electric fireplace to be recessed in a wall down there.  We are putting in new ceiling tiles too....painting, etc....putting columns on our porch...little touches to give our house our personality.  I get overwhelmed with trying to organize everything....lol  It is coming along and it inspired this poem because that is all we are doing right now.....renovating and fixing up our house.  It is nice to won a home though.  I wish you luck in your decisions about moving. Love n Hugs xo

Ps. That picture was not far off of the truth of the matter..... Truly swimming in boxes!!......Yuch!! 😒

Lol...Of course you can relate!  You are my partner in all this box madness of confusion!  Lol  The fun part will begin once we can really focus on the projects we want to work on after the last box is emptied....We are almost there!  I see the potential of our house really being a great haven and place of creativity once we settle in.  I am glad you are with me to get through this tiring time of swimming in boxes....I did not know what else I could write about when this is what is reality right now...  Love you too. xo ;)

The boxes will empty one at a time the right place you will find for every thing in time. Your place  will be sublime all it takes is time emptying boxes one at a time.

Hi Rose.  Thank you so much.  We are excited and really putting our heart into our house.....It needs a lot of fixing up, but it is a dream come true to own a home and see its potential to be a great place for us to express our creativity.  It feels like home.  Thank you for your kind support.  I will send Tony your love.  xo Love n Hugs

My Dear Cherie,

Been there!  Done that!
Three moves in three years.  The only thing we want to move now is our bowels.  (Sorry for my shitty humor)
It is so tedious, mundane, time consuming, and exhausting.  With our first move, we found a lot of unnecessary accumulation that we gave away to various charities.
There is nothing like unpacking that final box.

Love,
Larry xxx

Hi dear Larry....You DO know what I am talking about...lol!  I am hoping this move is the last for a very long time.....I have moved a lot too.  I got rid of many things before we moved, but it still was more than I imagined to unpack and try to organize.  We also have a lot of renovations, fixing up and painting to do...It has been time consuming.  I am sore every night and fall into bed already half asleep from the day's work.  But we love our new home and it will be worth all the work we are putting inot it.....And we are at least almost unpacked...  ;)  xo Love n Hugs

Hi Syd....You are lucky to have only moved once.  It is stressful.  I have moved many times, but this was the biggest move and I hope to not move any time soon again.  I like our new home very much...It just needs some work that we are doing little by little.  The boxes are almost unpacked, and we are immersed in fixing up our house to make it our home...little by little.  We will appreciate all the work we are putting into it once it is done...Or is a house ever truly done?  lol  Thank you. xo ;)

Cherie,  Everytime I have moved boxes went into the attic that never came back down.  Is that cheating!  Glad you're getting there.  We all want a poem and pics of the house.  I think I can speak for everyone.   Nice poem!  Love, Terry Kay

HI Terry....Lol...Now that is an idea!  Wish I had thought of that.  We have 95% of all boxes unpacked now,.....just a lot of painting and fixing going on ....but it is all an investment into a home we plan to stay in a long time and make worth all the work.  The appraised value of our home has already gone up $60,000 and so I feel that the cost we put into it has already paid for itself.  Now it is all just a slow process of doing as we can....It overwhelms me, but feels good to see the results as we go along.  Thanks for your awesome support!  ;) xo Love n Hugs
